Not had this much fun using music apps for a long time. Looking forward to my Xmas break to be able to spend some serious time with both.

2 great apps. I said it many times, the iPad is a fantastic device to make music. Not enough people knows how fantastic this device is for music. I hope that Drambo and Loopy Pro will convince people to make music with their iPad.
I'm like an hour into loopy pro and it seems like if just one or two more things were added, and auv3's loaded a little bit more quickly, there's basically no need for AUM anymore
TRUTH: I bought Drambo months ago and still haven't really learned it. Just got Loopy Pro. Microfreak will be arriving any minute. And I keep telling myself it's time to settle down and focus on a few tools and workflow for musical creation.
Got some things to work out on my break, which starts tomorrow. Not a bad set of problems to solve.

Using Loopy AUv3 in AUM is an option that shouldn't be overlooked as well. It's a great combo. Not as great as it will be when Loopy has multi-input and multi-output, but full of potential anyway.

The Drambo/LP combo has me on the edge of giving up my Octatrack. Not quite, though, because the Octatrack is unrivaled as a sound-design tool.
I’m having a little trouble recording good, synced loops in LP when I don’t have any sound on the 1 of the bar, hopefully I’ll hit on the magic combo of settings soon.
AUs hosted in LP are also a bit flaky. FM Player 2 often stops outputting audio for example.
I also need to dig into Drambo to learn more of what it can do.
But LP is just incredible. It’s like an modern Ableton, only with all those sweet AUs, and utterly portable.
@echoopera are you using the LaunchPad Pro with LP? Have you gotten the mutes/solos etc working?
Hey @wim. I’ve not bought yet but absolutely will.
I’m of the group that wants to keep AUM in my workflow.
In Group the Loop you are able select AUM as the Input and when you switch to AUM, GTL is available as an output.
From there you can use as many channels as you like, layer synths, set up a master bus channel, use IAA (Lumbeats) etc.
In one of the hundreds of posts that I’ve read since the beta was released someone stated that this was absolutely possible.
Please tell me this is true.
I would turn off the Auto Loop setting for material that doesn't have a sound on 1. And if you know the tempo, set it manually.
Please report any AUs that are problematic...preferably on the Slack channel if you are on it.

I’m still working to track the source of the problem—I’m using an OP-Z over Bluetooth to sequence an AU synth, so I’m not yet sure whether it’s an OP-Z problem, Bluetooth problem, AU problem, or LP problem!
You can use Loopy Pro as an AU in AUM. You will have to set up a bus system in AUM so that a bus feeds Loopy ...and you send the synths and whatnot to that bus. At some point down the line the Loopy Pro AU will have multi-outs and I believe multi-in, too.
Yeah, it's almost enough to make you forget about the deadly global COVID pandemic.
So LP will be available in an effects slot? If so, sounds similar to 4 pockets MTR. Which really has the same outcome I’m looking for.

I asked the pros and cons on another thread using each as the host.
My very limited understanding lend to using Drambo as the host since Loopy Pro can't do midi for now and Drambo can handle the audio routing. Seems it makes more sense to host Loopy Pro under Drambo.
Lots of people use Drambo in loopy pro for midi, fwiw.
My opinion is that it all depends on what you play, your preferred work flow, and what your needs are. I feel you shouldn’t make this decision until you start trying and building and playing and recording and arranging to see what works best for you. Things that you didn’t think through while initially contemplating will arise.
For me. Drambo hosting LP and Koala.
I started in Drambo hosting loopy. Using Drambo for midi and loopy for a few audio loops and a performance interface to trigger Drambo stuff.
Fast forward 3 months and now i use loopy to host Drambo. Stopped using midi loops except to record into initially, tweak, and then print to audio loops. Drambo for effects and synths occasionally.
Love me some Drambo, but loopy is getting stronger and stronger as a full host. Once it has midi loops and automaton = game over. 🥳
