Is it just me or is there a problem mapping controls?
In Drambo i can’t use the map function to control a knob. Trying to map Wet/Dry and while it appears in the drop down menu as available, it doesn‘t ever successfully select and be mappable
Edit: seems to work in AUM, digging deeper into the drambo issue.
Edit: a new instance in Drambo solved the issue. Not sure what happened there, but all good
@craftycurate You have to tune FRMS because the density changes the pitch. More dense = higher pitch. But if you have a constant density setting, you can tune it to match the input. At least that is my experience. And using an FM oscillator for the fundamental helps a lot.
I would love to see a more extensive demo video of this. But if it doesn’t happen… I’ll probably buy it anyway. To be honest, I have had great results using FRMS as an instrument but sometimes it crashes as an effect. And while I love Silo, it is very experimental and not always as musical as I’d like, which is true of a lot of granular stuff.
Thanks for input ... but agree with previous poster - to be fair to @gsdsp we should move this conversation to an FRMS thread, and let him have his thread back
I agree
Thanks … i’ll give it a go. I thought I had tried C3 back in the day, but it’s been a while.
Great work on this plugin @gsdsp
Just zoning out while playing the OPxy into it within AUM. 🙏🏻🎚️💗
Beautiful!
Thank you 👊🏼🎚️❤️
I can’t get enough of this effect.
Thank you for creating it.
Here’s another one:

@echoopera this sounds really wonderful!
I also bought it and together with the Ambient Construction Kit(John Gorton) for the OP-XY it's so massive good.
Yeah. It’s perfect to pair with it. 👊🏼🎚️💗
I’m intrigued by this one, but I wish there was a quick demo simply showing what this does to basic sounds, ie. first hear with no effect, then add effect, then change parameters. It’s hard to tell what the effect is doing when the source sounds are complex
Well, I couldn’t resist buying it, and while I was messing around I recorded a demo video. A basic arpeggiated sound from ElasticOSC going into the effect. I mess around with some presets, hit the random buttons, and hook up some modulation sources. Just keep in mind that I have very little idea how this thing works yet
I dream of mixing and granulating drones in this. Another excellent app from GS DSP!
Thanks! Will likely get this one
Also found this demo useful
real sweet!
best granular fx plugin for ios so far
It's also surprisingly light* on cpu which is brilliant. 👊🔬🧠
*for being granular.
Had fun using it all over this.

I bought this last night, but I’m not finding it intuitive enough to figure out all its controls on my own. I have not found a manual or solid tutorial for this.
Many of the presets are cool 😎 but if I can’t find any real instructions on this… I’m toying with getting a refund
put a simple sound throug it and see what's doing what😄
its pretty good explained:

what thrill me most is that gustav managed to modulate the modulators with each other in a very smart way for all his plugins, which sets them apart from others.
I have figured out a fair bit that way… but I was up late just trying to figure out the modulation section… and finally figured out how to play the captured samples, etc.
It’s just that I feel this could go deeper than what I’ve figured out so far, and I’d like some references to aid in delving in more.
Seems you lose your captured sources when you relaunch… I wonder if captured samples are saved via preset save?
in the left corner of the effect you can even select "?" which explains what you touch in your favorit language ( there are some funny languages inside)
play a little more with it, its deep.
@skiphunt I don't think it's "sampling," just freezing the input.
"funny languages"? Looks like it's just a long list of language translations. Which are the "funny" ones?
So, if you freeze different source in each of the 2 buffers... and get the settings/modulations just right... is there no way to save it then... since the buffers will empty once you close out?
Yes, the buffers are not meant to store audio as sample, the reason you can toggle record on off is for live performance and/or modulation. Usually live granular processors just keep recording all the time and don‘t offer that option even.
If you want to keep what you have you can always record the output. Or you already set it up in a way that you keep sending audio to it and automate / modulate the recording so the next time you open it up it will be the same. Does that make sense?
Yes, it's not a dealbreaker for sure... I'm just trying to learn what I can about your app. It seems like something I'd use frequently and it seems like it's great for experimenting with sound blends, etc.
However, it seems like there's another deeper layer to what you can do with this app that I can't figure out intuitively without more instruction/manual/or good tutorial.
It looks like you have tutorials for your other apps... I'm guessing one is in the process of being made for this app soon?
I don't like just having to mostly rely on great presets (which there are plenty) for apps I really love, I like to understand how to use them as well as possible... without having to rely on presets.
