Dropouts? Cables?
This might be something that is not related to Loopy pro itself. But maybe someone could give me a hint?
I am having occasional crackles and dropouts, although I have a new iPad Pro and no matter how high I set the buffer size.
Power and RME UCX II go into a small Usb hub, from where the cable is extended with a male–female USB-C Cable running into the ipad (because I don’t want that hub dangling down from the tablet). Could this potentially be conspicuous?

Can you make a screen recording with Loopy’s mixer open. This will help see if this is a levels problem or overloading the cpu.
And show the system settings panel, too.
I observed the issue for a couple of days. It is not consistent. Sometimes it crackles more, sometimes it’s gone for awhile. No changes in the settings other than the various buffers. : )
Never more than 20-25 % CPU
The weird buffer size may be responsible. Try turning off Siri and rebooting. If Siri is off, turn it on, reboot, turn it off, reboot then set the buffer size. Also make sure no Bluetooth audio earbuds or speakers are connected.
@Zsolt : if you get those cracked and cpu is not spiking, I’d be curious what happens if you turn all the AU off. I have noticed that some AU are fine regardless of buffer size and done act up.
I even asked perplexity for a complete list of all features related to Siri and Apple Intelligence and how to turn them off. Now after a reboot, buffer duration in loopy is 256 – a non-weird figure for the first time. I hope that this was the key. Thanks for support again espiegel

I get a short connection loss of my audio interface when my iPad battery seems to be fully loaded. I think it sends some signal to the hub to request less power.
This is my update,
The problem is solved as far as it can be solved. Sometimes the buffer keeps the 256, and sometimes it doesn’t, so I have to set it and restart Loopy.
That’s okay. But I still get the dropouts – and not only that. The metronome, or rather the clock sort of stumbles for a moment and gets out of sync for a moment every time the dropout occurs. That’s pretty frightening. 😅😅
It might have to do with my set up of course, but it’s just a plain connection to an RMEUCX2, so I don’t really know how to approach the issue.
Was thinking about what @Alfred said. I actually always have my interface and power cable connected to a small Linq USB hub, so my iPad is loaded most of the time. I might try to drain that a bit.
