JWM - Frigidity (Drone Day 2025 Entry)(Ambient created on...an Android?!!)

This production was 100% done on an Android tablet, from using FL Studio Mobile to create and master the piece, to using Artrage Vitae to create the Non-Representational Abstract album art. No AI was used in the creation of this production.
In fact, everything was synthesized from scratch. I used FLSM's Minisynth for the bass, Supersaw for the chords, Transistor Bass for the 303 motif, 3xOSC for the kickdrum, and GSM for the quick and wild plucked motif. Of course lots of reverb was used since this is Ambient afterall. Only thing that didn't receive reverb was the kickdrum, lol.
And I indeed mastered the piece in the project itself using Leveller, Multiband Compressor, Limiter, and the Analyser for the LuFS monitoring. I used another app called WaveEditor to trim down the audio file itself, and the SoundCloud app to post the track right to Soundcloud from the Android tablet.
In fact, I'm writing and posting this post from my Android tablet. I never thought an Android tablet could be so much fun to use and create music on! When I created my "Do Androids Dream of Music" album last year, it was arduous. But not the case this time. Was a breeze to use.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this piece of music.

Very cool. I wouldn’t call this ambient. More of a Soundtrack for a David Lynch film. This would go well with the alien baby scene in Eraserhead. One of my favorites. My wife won’t watch it. She says it’s too weird. In heaven everything is fine!
Sometimes trying to fit something into a genre box is a bit of a bitch to figure out, I won't lie. 😂 But being compared to the late and great David Lynch is an absolute honour and the highlight of my day.
But yeah, this definitely falls a bit more under the "Electronic" genre I guess, lol. It has elements of Ambient though. 😂
Very cool, could be on a Space Psybient playlist. I often listen to this type of music when playing Sci-Fi games
Would have definitely checked up the artist if it came up in a playlist!
That's awesome! 👏 🤩 Thanks mate. Now I definitely need to look up Space Psybient online. I bet I'll love what I hear.
Just took a listen. Cool track, I had it on fairly loud (never too) through speakers so my neighbours got a dose as well. 😃
You might already know them as they are fairly popular, but Carbon Based Lifeforms would be a good example of Psybient imo. I dig them a lot!! But as you often say, it's difficult to fit something in a genre box...
Lol. Nice! Hopefully the bass shone through, lol.
Not sure I heard of Carbon Based Lifeforms, but I will be checking them out soon.
Thanks for the heads up.
Great experiment. I definitely get movie sound track vibes.
Nice track. The synths sound really full and layer perfectly. You have me wanting to check out FLSM.
Nice! I love hearing that (or, rather, reading that, lol). I really do love what I created in FL Studio Mobile. Everything was synthesised and programmed from scratch. No samples (although nothing wrong with that), and definitely no AI (which is the opposite of actually being creative). Getting movie sound track is a great comparison.
You definitely should!
I think the only synth I used that costs extra is the Transistor Bass (the TB-303 emulation). But FLSM is definitely budget-friendly, and hate to make this comparison, costs about the same with IAPs as Fugue Machine Rubato, lol.
You’re really quite good at this new fangled technology / music thingamajig 🙏
Thank you so kindly, mate. ☺️
Excellent…Again 😀 !!!!!
Cheers mate.
And yes, I indeed created this one on an Android, lol.
