Clicks / Pops when changing synth presets

edited July 2025 in Loopy Pro

Hi,

I saved a few Drambo instrument presets on my first Loopy Pro project so I can change the sound of the only instance of the program with some buttons I placed on the interface.

When I change presets, especially with some specific ones, there are short clicks or pops. I added a ramp to reduce the gain of the audio source to -inf and other that turns it back up right after, but there are still clicking sounds. Is there a reliable way to avoid this?

thank you very much

Without knowing more or seeing a demonstration, it is hard to know. Are you changing presets within Drambo for from Loopy's presets menu? A Drambo preset change can mean that Drambo is re-configuring itself. Have you experimented with waiting longer after the change to unmute Drambo?

It is hard to tell what is going on in that video. It would be helpful to see the mixer, to see if the clicks are being sent by Drambo.

Are you sure that the clicks/pops aren’t coming from Drambo ?

Does it happen with all presets?

Do you have another host that can save/load Drambo presets where you can try switching between the exact same presets?

If you host Drambo in Drambo and switch between those same two presets, what happens?

The Clicks are being sent by Drambo. It doesn’t happen with all presets, at least not with the same frequency. It was a great idea to test this with Drambo as a plugin inside Drambo. I got the same clicks.

This video shows the mixer https://streamable.com/8eyj4b

This video shows the same issue inside Drambo https://streamable.com/q5hlkv

    Thanks

  • When testing with lot of auv3’s effects and instruments.. I think some of them are having at least small clicks.. need to check drambo.. at least Eventide, Korg and Beathawk seems to be smooth 🤔

Since you get the same clicks in Drambo, it indicates that it has something to do with that preset. I’d suggest asking for help figuring out the source of the clicks in a Drambo thread here or in the Drambo forum
