Does Loopy Pro 2.0 actually export note data in MIDI clips?

I have 2.0 (693) running here and can't seem to get it to successfully export any data from a MIDI clip. It seems to export the clip to a file, but when importing that same clip back into a new MIDI clip in a project, it is empty, with no note data (for me at least). I must be doing something wrong or not have a setting clicked.

  • Sorry for the typo, my 2.0 build is actually (692).

It should be exporting a complete midi file. Can you zip and upload a project where yhe exported midi does not work?

  • Thanks for looking at this. I have uploaded a project file with two midi clips in it.
    1. The first one is the one created in Loopy Pro that I exported, as "Clip 1"
    2. The second one is the one that I imported "Clip 1" into and doesn't have the notes that in it that were in the original clip.

Let me know if I can share anything else about this. I'm not in dire need of this feature working, but I always check out import/export options on any app. I'm a CAD user and just got in that habit over the years.

Exporting and importing worked for me. The clip on the right is the import of the exported midi file. What device and OS are you running? What language does it run in? During the beta, there was one person whose exported midi files were always empty until one day they weren’t and we never figured out what the cause was as it didn’t happen to anyone else.

  • I have an iPad (9th generation) running iPadOS Version 18.5 and my language is English.
Just for fun, I turned the iPad off and then back on again with no change in the results. I suppose I could uninstall Loopy Pro and reinstall it and see what happens.

  • Ok, I removed Loopy Pro and reinstalled and now I can export midi clips that can be imported again.
Interesting. This is still build (692).
    Background info:
I had Loopy Pro 1.0 for about a year and got in on the test flight beta. When 2.0 was released on July 11th, I removed the test flight version and installed 1.0 again and then upgraded to 2.0.
I guess I found a weird corner case but it's working now.

  • Thanks for looking at this one espiegel123. I appreciate all the tech support everyone involved does. This program is very powerful and beats the pants off the hardware loopers.
