USB MIDI or 5-pin or trs?
USB MIDI
There are quite a few available on Amazon, I used a cheap one for my Air 4, but I had to get a higher powered hub (Belkin) for my 13” Air 6, but the one in the link will work on your iPad.
Here is the Amazon link if you are interested, there are plenty of other makes available too.
HUBFINDER USB-C HUB with 4K HDMI, Type-C/USB-A 3.0, PD 100W Charging, SD Card Reader, HDMI Splitter for MacBook, Laptops, Surface, iPad https://amzn.eu/d/5dPJWEw
Take a look at this USB C hub: https://a.co/d/bpYh5w6
It has usb c pd, usb a, headphone out etcetera.
Some people have reported damaging their iPad usb port with those type of hub. Not sure if it's true but also the don't work well with cases.
There’s a risk with USB hubs becoming a brick with future updates. Some will argue it doesn’t happen to them. Again, risk.
At this point, you might be more suited to look at an interface with midi and usb. Like the Arturia audiofuse devices.
All the best.
The cheapest option is just to use the $9 Apple adapter into any USB-C hub (the hub doesn't need to be powered, so a really cheap hub works just fine).
In the image above I'm using a USB C to A adapter to plug the Apple dongle into a hub, it works fine.
II have the Belkin usb-c hub and a headphone isb-c adapter. I just picked this up yesterday and seems to be working fine. Much smaller and you can attach a flexible usb-c cable (most of the other hubs have such a stiff cable) https://www.amazon.com/Detachable-Displayport-Splitter-Multiport-Portable/dp/B0D5VTBG8F/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=57ZJT3JJHMW0&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ZEXWtQit6sKYEBIlP9dfM6NRZsyhvejEEHHzKsmX5b8jzwVuQPrxzy4lJv1Ghw5R-3jrcGzAgFy5W5rXhystSPcRL0RdbMaVmiYwU8lR2fE6Qvz-ovj_1Iv9E-1UPFfEaRKkxy4NES-SHfJ0MPN6Aqs84w99cRbfclMhsSw9PHsqYK2foomxjIG8iFlt3fRKdum2lMWTDEvu_zWe26NTZA.oTtkg5WzT197msUOt2GWf3GB5D2agP7HAu7jMVdZ8nY&dib_tag=se&keywords=usb+c+hub+detachable+cable&qid=1753723228&sprefix=usb+c+hub+detachable+cable,aps,230&sr=8-5
Thanks very much for your help. Stupid me, I’ve had a look through my cables bags (I’ve got about five of them) and found two USB powered hubs. All connected up nicely and added my audio interface. All lights up like a Christmas tree!
Just ordered a 3.5 to USB A connector to plug my headphones into the hub. I’m back in the game 😃
