Onyx 12 mixer/interface for use with IOS and LP?

Hey folks- I’m in the market for a new mixer/interface. I was bummed to discover that my current board, a sound craft 12mtk, DOES NOT seem to play nice with IOS and Loopy. I can’t seem to get the sound back out of the IPad and out of the board. Anyway, it is lacking in a few things I’m addition to not working with my looping setup, so I’m considering an upgrade.
I’m torn between the Zoom L12 and the Mackie Onyx 12. In general, I prefer analog to digital and hence am leaning toward the Mackie… but nowhere in there website write up does it explicitly say that the thing is gonna work with IOS.

Anyone out there with personal experience with the Mackie Onyx line of boards and using them as a sub interface with IOS and LP? Thanks!

  • Just a side note: The Mackie has 5 stereo inputs while the zoom has 2 (but 8 mono slots), so if you need more mono channels, you're better off with the Zoom L12.

  • You might want to start a thread over in the Loopy Pro category to explore if there are ways to get the Mackie to behave with Loopy.

What do you mean by “sub interface”?

  • @espiegel123 the “sub” must’ve been a typo that got past my rigorous editing protocol
