All at sea
I think this came together quicker than any other track I’ve ever done…
Everything just worked first time, choice of preset in ChordJam, first press of generate in Piano Motifs, selection of sounds from Decent Sampler…
Felt & Fog | Frosty Fog
Flute & Violin | Sustain FX
Poseidon’s Pull | The Pull + Ropes & The Sea
Korg Prototype 8 | Stately + Dew Drops.
Effects TB Reverb and FAC Alteza.
Even the title more or less wrote itself !
… I even like the end result… happy days 😊

This is quite lovely. Very peaceful and relaxing. I seem to like that more and more each day. I just heard those little percussion bits. Nice. I’m listening as I type. There they are again. Piano Motifs is a mystery. Some days I can sit and repeatedly poke Generate, and it just says… not today Paulie. Other days it just starts throwing cool stuff at me faster than I can react. Hope things are going well for you and yours. Peace.
I can’t believe you still use Decent Sampler after learning it has a flawed MPE implementation. Some people will never learn
that a free app with free instrumental downloads is never worth the time it takes to download and master. Oh well.
OK. I must admit that you can get some pretty good sounds out of DS but you can get god sounds out of Xinematix, Korg Module for only a couple hundred bucks. UPDATE: Xinematix dropped its pricing after I spent the hundreds.
I hope you don’t start using free FX apps or there will be an App Store Music recession. UPDATE: Going out of business sales
announced regularly (except the going out of business is a secret).
I’ll be here all week… tip your waitress. (Ol’ school stand up).
Seriously. No video! I like to see those GeoShred “stars”.
All the DS Intruments are from:

NOTE: Some won’t install properly and that’s another reason to only buy App Store approved instruments.
Nice work @GeoTony… do you hate our beloved developers that just want to feed their kids, pets and drug habits.
Very sweet track T, it didn't exactly take me to the sea but it took me somewhere nice, and fluffy. Greatly done comrade! 😁
Sounds like there’s a nice island of serenity in that sea. With all the hustle and bustle of life these days it was a lovely place to visit.
What a lovely, serene piece of music. Just what I needed on a Sunday afternoon!
Many thanks @Paulieworld , @McD , @Pxlhg , @MadeofWax and @michael_m 🙏
You’re right Paul, sometimes I have to prod Generate so many times it’s like a session at the gym. Who said musicians didn’t suffer for their art ☹️ This is a joke btw, we’re both still missing that irony / sarcasm font @McD 😊
I might start that Decent Sampler thread yet !
My strict northern England upbringing prevents me from buying things when free versions are available but it’s nothing to do with hating developers, I was one for 35 years so have nothing but love and admiration for them.
Now if I could only write an AUV3 music app in COBOL I’d be laughing 🤔
I wonder if Anthropic Claude can produce Cobol apps.
I was using it today to generate Swift Playgrounds apps and it was hit or miss on producing code that would just run
in Swift Playgrounds. It made a basic music app with an on screen keyboard and a “beep beep” sound engine. I asked for
MIDI but there’s no evidence in the app screen. I haven’t looked at the code yet for MIDI references.
Very peaceful, indeed. Like Paul,I enjoyed the introduction of the percussion at 3:00.
Did you see the movie Arrival? The slightly alien feel. You’ve got that with that subtle creaking.
Have a good one, Tony.
I really enjoyed the deep gentle mood to this one. Love listening to it in headphones. It’s like hearing the sea softly breathing or something. So calming.
Thanks @LinearLineman and @Dav , as I said in the original post this one just came together and worked… I was very lucky.
I have seen the film Mike but can’t remember the music… time to re-watch.
Maybe I brought my own baggage to the experience but this felt like big feelings under a calm surface. Really good piece.
