  • I'd be interested in trying a demo so I could listen to the differences between my own crappy mixes and what auto software could do.

  • “This is not AI”

Too bad. Here’s my list of mastering solutions in descending order of preference:

    1. Human
    2. Software: AI
    3. Software: Not AI

The fact is AI mastering will get better and better. If you’re looking for a certain sound get a human. If you want something “good enough,“ AI is going to be your best bet going forward.

Some other human’s personal settings hardwired into an app doesn’t impress me.

This is also mixing not just mastering. Any in category 2 for mixing and mastering you would recommend? I am sure there are a bunch, I just haven't looked into it myself.

  • AFAIC, it's the responsibility of the artist or band to get the mix in their music right. No one else understands what is the intent behind the music and the mix expresses that intent. As far as mastering goes, I'm OK with automated solutions as long as it maintains the intent of the mix.

  • I remember hearing of a plugin called the God Particle a while back that I believe claimed to do this. Anyone use it that can weigh in?

  • I think the God Particle plugin is one to strap across the whole mix. This Tool Without thing is for use on a bunch of stems. I don't use many plugins but I'm curious to hear if I could learn something about making my mixes better from this thing. I don't have high hopes but I think I'll try it someday when I have that elusive magical day off.

Yah I doubt it could do much with a bad mix. I am curious if I may get some use out of this as a quick sweetener of sorts though. But yah for a full on real "artists" album, from scratch with real effort ftw.
