SOLVED: Is there a USB-C audio interface that charges as well?
Just got a new iPad M3, that has the USB-C port. Is there an audio interface out there that also provides power (IE charges) the iPad?

You're probably better off using a powered hub that has Power Delivery (PD). That's a much more flexible and cost effective solution that doesn't narrow your choice of interfaces. Depending on your interface, it may power that as well.
Depends on what you're looking for
For a single i/o (with two jacks), this Synido interface is a mediocre, cheap, portable option
You can plug two cords in (1/4in and 1/8in), however there's a bit of bleed between em, so simultaneous recording is rather moot (works fine for live play/streams)
However, it will remove need for unplugging and changing mic/instrument (you can just turn down either input from the interface)
But, this one DOES have pass thru charging. BYOPS (*power supply), but works from both wall power or portable source
I use it currently, but I'm on a hella budget portable build for now, so it really ticks my boxes at this point
I must reiterate, this is NOT a great interface, however for cost and features, it can be a boon for the right necessities. Ymmv, of course
No. There’s no such interface and there is no need to. Any class compliant audio interface with USB C, comes with a USB C-to-USB C cable and a USB C-to-USB-A cable. If you use the second cable I mentioned, you can buy a USB C hub for your iPad Air M3 and than you can connect the USB A end coming from the audio interface into this hub that’s connected directly to your iPad. Most hubs have one or two USB A ports. And also a USB C port with PD (Power Delivery), an HDMI and some also a headphone jack. This is how I use my iPad Pro with USB C in the studio. Works magnificent. Here’s a link to see such USB hub: https://a.co/d/iVwst2z.
Edit: I see that the USB C hub from UGREEN has a total of 3 USB C ports and 2 USB A. One USB C is for charging only, the other two can be used for data and storage transmission. So both cables that’ll come with an audio interface should work. If you have any questions, please let us know. Good luck 🍀.
The lewitt connect 6 does this.. it's a very capable interface especially if you are integrating your iPad into a wider hybrid setup with say a pc or other piece of hardware.. no midi unfortunately but I use widi dongles to overcome that..
Problem solved - TOTALLY forgot about my old iRig Duo interface, was sitting in a box in the cupboard for a couple of years now....and the fact I had the Power Bridge adapter.
Simply attached a USB-C to Lightning adapter and away we go.
It's a solid two channel I/O interface with MIDI i/o and I can run it on batteries (2 AA) or add another power adapter for it.
Thanks to all for your suggestions.
Good. But that won't be very effective for charging your USB-C iPad. You really need USB-C Power Delivery (PD) for that.
no, it DOES charge the iPad - just had it on for an hour
- as I wrote I simply used a USB C to Lightning adapter...I think IK now make the USB-C version of the power bridge
iConnectivity Audio4c
https://iconnectivity.com/audio4c
Power/Charge a USB Type-C compatible device (up to 15W)
I'm still using the old version iConnectivity Audio4+ (great device)
