Ramp for effects
LP2 is incredible. As a singer guitarist, I can change all my sounds simply pushing one NEXT button. For that, I connect LP2 with BandHelper, it works nicely. I manage songs in BandHelper, for each section (intro, verse 1, chorus 1, verse 2, etc), it sends Midi CCs to trigger the sounds in LP2.
I am using extensively Tonex for guitar sounds (1 for clean, 1 for crunch, 1 for drive, etc). I also use modulation effects, like chorus, flanger and Leslie.
When I change my guitar sound while playing, for instance coming from clean Leslie to flanger drive, there may be a glitch (clic/pop sound) because the sound comes in "instantaneously".
As of now, I managed dealing with this by not putting all effects in line, but having each effect on a dedicated bus (thank you version 2). Doing so I can mute/unmute each bus, and in this case there is an option for a ramp. So I set a ramp of few ms, and I then have no glitch.

Question is: Am I stuck with this way of doing? It works but I have tens of busses... Is it possible to activate an effect with a ramp, I couldn't find the option?
Thanks
Comments
@Florian : are you sure the glitches are due to turning effects on and off?
There isn’t any sort of possible in-between state between on/off to ramp between.
Many thanks for the quick answer.
Yes, I thoroughly checked, and even if subtle, it comes from turning on and off. Which is expected actually, when processed (activated) directly and fully without any short delay, the sound is meant to be different.
Between on and off for an effect is a question of volume mix between unprocessed and processed sound, isn’t it?
And maybe once again: many thanks for the opportunity to have all busses routed as we want. That is a game changer for effects management.

For the record, here is what it looked like before the multi-bus version.
Switching effects or amps could be unpleasant (jump in sound), which does not happen when having the ramp smoothening the transition.
Could you do a ramped fade out before deactivating (or muting), then ramp back up after reactivating? You'd also need to save the state before the fade out so that you can restore it afterward, but Loopy has the tools to do that.
@wim: Thanks for the reply. This is a good idea.
But that would work with auv3 exposing a « mix » parameter only (or am I missing something?).
TONEX does, so this is worth the try. But THU for instance does not.
Yes, there would need to be a mix or output parameter, unless the FX is on a bus by itself, then you could use the Send level or the Bus fader.
