Please read the description on the above YT video if you click on it, if it bothers you, just check the version in this post..
Here is the final version, I also made a Radio Edit of it, for a next release.
Thank you.
Very well done. I hate to use the word “interesting”. How about highly structured chaos. During the first listen, it sounds wild and crazy. During subsequent listens, the patterns begins to develop. Everything is very intentional. I like the strange and bizarre melody that comes in around :40. It sounds completely random, as though you are just poking in notes with wild abandon, but then you continue to develop it throughout the composition. I find myself leaning into this direction these days. I think composers like Stravinski and Scriabin might be dabbling in things like this if they had the technology at the time.
Regarding the video, I didn’t like it. The music stands alone without visuals. I found it dark, disturbing and needlessly violent. It distracts from the music. I don’t think of death when I listen to this. I think it’s “groovy”. Anime is so old and boring. It has lost its edge. It’s a shame that @MadeofWax doesn’t post here anymore. He would create something totally new and unique for this.
I saw that you are on KVR. I just gave you a bump. If you get a few moments, I would welcome your thought on a few of my recent posts on SoundCloud. I have a piece called Runaway Train which is, in my opinion, structured chaos. Have a good one!
I think your track, like you said, is groovy too. Groovy Mad Metal Rock. I like to put a name to my genre as Retro Death Pop for my project, but I was thinking of changing it to Cyber Death Pop lately. Now with you're argumented on the video, it made me want to switch de description of my genre to this yeah.
And thank you so much for your appreciation, I didn't knew other people were doing music in the "same domain" as I do.
Cheers
Yeah, there are a few of us out here in the perimeter. You’re not alone. May I make a suggestion? Take “Death” out of the description entirely. I’m thinking more like “Cyber Psycho Pop”. I can relate to that. Peace, bro!
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll ponder about it for a moment. Peace!
Even they could be 2 intepretation of my naming, Cyber Deathpop or Cyberdeath Pop. And I will clarify it on my socials medias as the 2nd one
Thanks for the shout out @Paulieworld
I don't think even my best work can compare to professionally created anime, but I appreciate you mentioning it.
I've thought about ending my self-enforced exile but I just don't know that it makes sense to post AI videos here, unless it's a collaboration. Even then, I know some people here on the forum don't want or appreciate anything to do with AI.
I am extremely grateful for you and the other friends I've made here. If it weren't for this forum I probably wouldn't have started making videos. I certainly wouldn't have anywhere near the subscribers or watch hours if not for your contributions.
Nice work on the music, Sullivan.
Keep up the good work!
It’s your song and whatever you choose, I will support it. However…
I see a lot of these goth kids, dressed in black, with dark eye makeup, and running around pretending to be so full of angst and depression. Life is so fucking hopeless and dark! They can turn it on or off like a light switch, and go home to mommy’s house for dinner. In 2004, our two boys were killed in a horrific car crash. I would call it an accident, but that would imply that it couldn’t have been avoided. They were in the car with a stupid driver and they died a violent, but (hopefully) quick and painless death. My wife and I stood over their dead, broken bodies, gazed down at them, and touched them one last time before they were cremated. Joey was 11, JD was 15. They were strong, handsome young men with a bright future. All the young girls were madly in love with them. I should be a grandfather today. Instead, I’m sitting out on my patio doing silly music on a iPad because I have nothing better to do with my life. Death is not cool.
I totally understand you Paulieworld and am sorry to hear, Death is not cool. Thus your will for me to change Death in my song''s genre.
I'm no Goth Kid, never been and never liked, just I found sometimes a black t-shirt could be cool.
Yeah I changed to Cyber Groove Pop, sounds more fair. Thanks for making me realize.
You inspired me to create a new genre. I call it DCDM. Discombobulated Conglomeration of Disparate Meanderings. The first track is 4 Quarks. I posted on KVR. We’ll see how it does. Have a wonderful day, my friend!
Why not, but isn't it a too long naming?
I listened on KVR, sounds good, but it lacks tension as 1st impression, but at around 1:20 when I turned the tab to answer here, I felt tension, because simply your music is good for medidation. Good questioning parts before a wonderful 3:20. Just something bothered me, it's sarting 2:00 a grunge-like rock, maybe use it more partially discrete.
Anyways, great work, and I wouldn't be surprised if you used AI, which I could be wrong.
@Paulieworld Check this single, distributed monday

Funny that you mention meditation. Someone said the same thing about Other Desert Cities. I didn’t try to create tension/release with it. It’s just stream of consciousness. It could be part of a larger piece. It just sort of fades in, then out. No AI involved. Maybe some VI… vodka influenced.
Maybe some "what" vodka influenced?
Yes. Cannabis was recently legalized here, but this new stuff is too intense for me. I just like to sit on my back porch and sip a cool refreshing adult beverage from time to time, as I create silly music on my iPad. I don’t overdo it, though. I still have to get up early for work… for now. Retirement is in the near future, but I think I would go crazy without a job. We have a few bucks saved up, so we won’t starve.
VI vodka whatever it means, is not cannabis.
Are you from Germany? regarding legalisatin of cannabis
No. I’m from Chicago, Illinois. The state legalized it to pay for their corruption. I am what would be locally referred to as a “Jagoff”. It’s nothing sexual. You would have to be a local home boy to understand.
I see. Me sometimes I pay attention on too much little details, sometime I feel free and in movement.
