Meester Smeeeth | “You can call me AI”
I posted this on the SOTMC last month but figured I’d break it out into its own thread for some shameless self promotion. And to see if I can nudge the play count into double figures ![]()
Not my best work but there’s something about it I still quite like. ![]()

The build-up is deftly handled, I love how the keys come in sparsely and then develop into a more insistent theme while the arrangement shifts around them.
Man, that beautiful introduction with this haunting voice and pleasant electro groove with robotic interference. I simply love it! 🤩
Concur. Was coming here to post my enthusiasm for the haunting intro before reading @Luxthor ’s comment.
Also, title had me cracking up 👌
Is this "You can call me 'AL'... or 'A.I."?
@klownshed is the greatest Paul Simon's "Graceland" fan you'll ever meet 😂😂😂

Thank you, especially as you’d already commented on this track in the SotMC
This track has some retrogaming / 8 bit vibes (some parts reminds me of some old Amiga soundtracks) which, mixed with the clean piano, creates a wonderful contrast.
Thanks! I’m glad you like it, I like ‘robotic interference’ — I might steal that for the next instalment of speak and spell songs.
Really like buildup in the into. Lots of tension/release throughout. The instrumentation is always evolving and really holds interest from start to finish. It doesn’t feel like a nine minute song. I listened three times. I like the chord changes and new themes that come in around halfway. It’s a narrative that tells a story. You put some time and planning into this and it shows. Great work and great track. Make that four listens. Maybe an orchestral version in StaffPad?
Thanks :-)
Although I’m starting to think it’s just the intro people like! Maybe I will take the intro and make another track from it… with more intro. At what point does it stop being the intro during the arrangement?! ;-)
“I really like the intro” = “Shame about the rest of it!”
Nah man, you do you. We’re not your label, and none of us probably buy your music.
Don’t you ever change. Stay the same.
If you listen to the track the ‘vocals’ make it quite clear I think
A.I. It Stands for ‘Authentic Ignorance’
Artistically Involved?
Grazie
Thank you! (although it's not 9 minutes long, it's 5:40! ;-) )
I'm really pleased that you listened three times! I may even try an orchestral version if I can think of a way to make it interesting. It would have to be in Logic on the Mac though, I don't have StaffPad. All my orchestral libraries are desktop only.
To be honest, 99% of my music is on Mac now. iPad was 'instrumental' in getting me back into making music and helped massively, but once that inertia was overcome, I found it easier on Mac again.
I will. I’m always taking in suggestions and feedback but only apply it when I think it’s necessary.
Usually with my own music I know whether a tune is good or not by my own standards and I’m happy with that.
I like this one.
Abject Indifference.
Arresting instrumentation, artfully implemented 👍
Appreciate Immensely. Authentically Indebted.
