Big SWAM app updates

In addition to the VariFlute news, did you see some of the other instruments received juicy updates as well?

For instance, here's SWAM Cello:

Comments

  • Yeah these updates are amazing. It's always encouraging to see such great apps receive great support, and this goes way beyond maintenance. It's like they're adding value for the love of the game at this point.

  • Oooooo I did NOT hear about these updates

But since the announcement of VariFlute, Google's now aware of my obsessive habits/refreshing

(Thats only happened in the past few hours)

I'm excited to discover the newness (specially for that double bass Mmm mmm good like Campbell's)

Thanks so much for pointing this out!!

  • Seen a lot of hype throughout the beta for this update over on VI control. Really exciting to see physical modelling getting better and better!

    Hmmm

After messing with Violin and Cello

Anyone else got doubles of handfuls of body types

While trying to cycle thru, (cello) - Electric, Electric 2, Dry, L'Aquila, and Treiste all change after one tap of the arrow. All the rest need two taps, and I can hit L/R/L/R and see no difference (hence my assumption about doubles)

Double Bass - Electric, Dry, Perugia, Potenza, and another Electric (sounds same as first, but comes after Potenza) are all single taps, but all the rest are doubled

Weirdly, zero issues with Viola [edit wait wait... Yeah, all the every body with BodyName and BodyName V3 options are doubled... But here, the list repeats. Starts at Cremona V3 then Cremona thru to Venezia V3 and Venezua, then the same Crem V3 and rotates thru. Then Electric is back to singles]

Is there a way to see a list of the body types (similar to presets)? Or is it only seen/accessible via the arrows?

    Hi @PapaBPoppin
The Timbre tab page shows a slightly different view of the available instruments , not a list of them all at once but perhaps a bit easier to visualise the duplications.
I can confirm your findings + the Cello and Double Bass instruments are also duplicated.
The Viola is the only one where the duplicates aren’t next to each other which makes the duplication less obvious.
As well as being cosmetically a problem it messes up the Anti-phasing functionality as it thinks that Cremona (1) is different to Cremona (2) so is happy that you have fixed the potential phasing issue.

Update… I have opened a ticket for this with Audio Modeling.

    Good catch, fellas.

  • Audio Modelling have replied, acknowledged it’s a bug and are working on a fix.
They have suggested that in the mean time, deleting and reinstalling will fix the issue.
This should be OK if you haven’t made any changes that you want to keep / user defined presets etc

  • The Genova violin sounds great! I have always thought the violin sounded a little thin and harsh. I haven’t used it in a mix yet, but Genova sounds like a great improvement.
