What’s the oldest modern iPhone worth getting?
I’m considering replacing my iPhone 12 Pro. Seeing as it’s got no working lightning port, no USB-C port, a cracked back and a quickly degrading battery I feel an upgrade might be needed soon.
That being said, what are modern iPhones worth checking out? The 17 looks pretty similar to the 16 all things considered. I’d love to get something that’s ”Pro Max” with a USB-C port.
Definitely wanting to stay in the Apple ecosystem but not wanting to pay an arm and a leg for a new phone(catch 22).

Just got a 13
14 or 15
13Pro maybe, or one or 2 newer versions if you’re looking for a bit more longevity.
Go as new as possible, they sometimes have trade in specials or even discounts around the holidays. since 17 is out now might be able to get 15pro-16pro for a reasonable price.
Just gave up my 6…(!!) got a new 14 for a good price… seemed the cheapest/most sensible option.
No headphone socket, but I have the lightning to 3.5mm adapter.

Ayyyyy, I’m still rockin my 6 til the battery don’t hold no more’!
…don’t get a 6 haha
Just repurposed an old 6 to be a Pianoteq device. It has a headphone jack, so it effectively turns any midi keyboard into a piano!
To answer the OP, it depends what features you need. My iPhone 12 mini is still more than enough for me. I would replace the battery before buying another phone. I have zero desire for Apple Intelligence, and my favorite iPhone camera was the XS. After that Apple started hyping the colors too much for me.

Innnnnteresting… I might just have to do the same, thanks for the idea! 🤙
I got a 14 Pro and found it too heavy for my liking, returned it and got a 15 Pro instead and it's much better (titanium vs stainless steel construction).
I had the 6s for a long time. Served me well, got the discounted replacement battery and all, but had to upgrade a few years ago.
I’m definitely due haha. Will be doing mistercharlies suggested repurposing for sure. I even dug up an OLD iPod touch. iOS 9.x 😮 but I got a few ancient IAA instruments on it. Time to start scouting out garage sales for old midi keyboards 🤙
Hi, I would just get the newest 1 u can afford that has usb-c
HST, I have the original iPhone SE with headphone jack 😀 Battery is still ok & it’s headphone jack & size makes it v.useful! Also still have an iPhone 6S+, its battery is fuct, so I got a battery case for it - still useful, but much bulkier! I still love my original SE! 💗
