New here, saying hello. And lots of questions
Hello everybody ! My first post here.
my first query:
Where should i start a thread with lots of questions and a general request to get a hand ? here in this subforum ?
I´m totally Noob vs. Ipad and vs. loopy pro. Both
Not vs. music making. I tinker with electronic music goods and toys since 30 years or so.
Been a Bassist on stage in a former live. Doing now mostly Piano based creative and electronic work based on patching ITB in live play hosts. No production works here, just live jams....and developing my ITB patches to ever new heights of playability and expressivity.
(No need to read this, my main request is the Query above)
I wanted to have Loopy pro since its release.
I was waiting and waiting for the mac version to come.....but nooo. While I´ve just read two weeks ago it´s coming now along.
But the idea to get an i-pad grew on me over the last years.
Found a "used" one (refurb?) at amzon for 24% off last weekend.
Ipad air, M3, 128GB SSD ( i know, thats a small SSD, but for an experiment it´s ok).
Turns out the unit must have been new. I think amazon is faking down some "refurbs". anyway
i-OS is a bad experience for me on iphone.. Looks like i don´t like I-OS on the ipad either. But i´ll use my Ipad only for loopy pro. So, i´ll steer free.
Vs. Loopy pro, I just want something really simple.
I struggle already with the most basic things.
So i need please a hand to get into it.
This is my first I-pad, as mentioned.
My demo time is running out tomorrow.
Got some needed cables and adapters only in today.
Guess i´ll have to buy Loopy bevore i see clear. Had so far two or three little trys with loopy pro.
I can record a loop. It plays now over my audio interface, i can listen over my speakers. But alots is unclear to me
should i just continue here with my pile of questions ? or make a own, clearly named thread in another subforum ?

Hi,
Welcome. Questions about Loopy Pro should be posted in the Loopy Pro category. They will probably be missed if you post them here.
Some ideas for getting started with Loopy Pro:
There are a number of good tutorial series -- but since everyone has different preferences in terms of presentation -- you might want to watch a few minutes in different series to find out whose tutorials you like:

Thanks Edward !
Ok, i have a look if someone took care of the most base fundamental things
Hey man. Welcome to the forum and iOS audio.
As your comfort with the community grows and your knowledge base, you'll start to understand the intricacies of the board.
Don't get scared by all the USER BANNED icons- some of them had great contributions- actually most of us do, just at varying stages in our progress.
Loopy Pro is a beast of an app with an absurd range of capabilities. Some find it too overwhelming and prefer the GarageBand, AUM route- but those folks are also right at home here.
Approach each topic with sincere intentions, avoid trolling. Lots of boomers here, usually talking about guitar stuff, lol.
Michael the creator of Loopy is a good dude, one of the best in the scene and has a really good discord which is not as active as this board, but does offer a lot of loopy help.
General App discussions is my mainstay- I test and work with a lot of developers and feel like I can contribute to end user experiences.
There's also a beta for Loopy, and Michael has offered to help people along, but if you have the cash- buy it. It's well worth the cost. IMO, which again is just my experience and projection is that iOS has two very unique apps that are must owns and Those are Loopy Pro, and Patterning 3. Both of which are costly in regards to iOS app pricing, but well worth it.
Now is a great time to grab some great deals on Yonac plugins as they are 80% off.
Plugins will most likely be your downfall as it is for most of us. Like literal crack for some.
Good thing Loopy supports that addiction too!
Welcome to the community brother. Ask as much and often as you like. The mods tend to not tolerate trolling, even minor trolling and resurrecting "old" threads which is subjective.. for me it makes sense to pull up an apps primary thread for questions and updates, but it infuriates folks.
Lastly, some replies will seem like absolute pricks. They may be- but often even those contain great gems and direction. It doesn't take a total mindset change to get your questions answered, but common courtesy will carry you a long way, again imo only.
I troll a lot of online communities and get banned from all of them- this is the only one I behave in and that is sometimes questionable. It's a great resource, one you'll be glad to be a part of.
TLDR? Don't be a dick, Forgive others of you feel they are being a dick. join the loopy discord, and subscribe to SoundForMore, Thesoundtestroom, jadestar YouTube channels, and of course Gavinski Tutorials.
See you in rehab!
ok, i´m back at my Ipad and Loopy pro.
I had yesterday the first time the possibility to play with it again since my last post.
Now everything was working. I could record, loop, listen, etc.
What i tryed, worked. Just super basic things. But it did without any need to change any settings.
The sole difference was, i purchased in the meantime loopy pro, and some more apps for Ipad, during BF.
That has been in fact the sole moments when i had my IPad on and running since.
Had to dismantle my whole ITB setup, which caused that i had to dismantle my 2nd setup too.
Now my IPad with Loopy pro is incorporated where and how originally meant to be.
just wanted to say thanks !
starting now to work my way fresh up again as things go
Welcome @sloMo_25
@sloMo_25 : glad to hear that you have got things working!
Hey Folks!
I just registered here, and looking to mine some tips and information.
Loopy Pro seems like one of the more popular music making apps out there, and perhaps I didn't give it the chance I should have to learn it. It sits on my iPad amongst a host of other apps more or less labeled "I'll look at it later."
I've been making unfinished 4-bar loops and beats since 1999, and I have a presence of sorts on Bandcamp with a number of albums of finished content and totaling about 80 tracks.
I'm fascinated by music technology these days. Reason Studios' Figure really started it for me in terms of iPad apps. I still use it today! But it it Reason that is my home DAW. I hear it's now acquired by LANDR. I wonder how that will work out!
Anyways, my name is Paul, I'm an electronic musician with a love for Lo-fi, downtempo, drum n bass and house subgenres and my favorite sound is that of a Rhodes or Wurlitzer! I go by the artist name Artificial Reality.
Happy new year to all of you! See you in the forums!
