Loopy Pro Artist Spotlight with Inby

I was more than delighted to sit down with one woman band Inby to talk about how she came across Loopy Pro and how she uses it in her shows!

🎙️ Loopy Pro Artist Spotlight #3: Inby
Welcome back to the Loopy Pro Artist Spotlight, where I sit down with the musicians who use Loopy Pro and talk about their creative process, how they're using Loopy Pro, and what it's done for their art.

For this one I was delighted to sit down with Inby (‪@inbar.heyman‬ – Inbar Heyman), a one woman band with a penchant for percussion and tiny instruments, who uses LP like an instrument.

We discussed how an RC-505 tutorial with the amazing Kristóf ended with an aside about how this app "Loopy Pro" is where the real action is, leading Inby to change direction and embrace LP instead. We talk about her setup in Loopy Pro, and how she designs her LP projects like an instrument, tailored to each song.

She takes us through her extensive use of magic-like Follow Actions – a game-changer for her – to flexibly automate and support performance; how she uses clip slicing to resample and play her loops like an instrument; sound design using plugins, and her guiding "everything is live" philosophy.

We discuss her gear (Morningstar MC6, a tiny Zoom U-44 interface, and an iPad rig that can project Loopy Pro's screen to the audience); talk plugins: FabFilter, Bliss, Turnado and Koala FX; and Inby shows it in action with a performance of "There Is".

It was a sheer joy to sit down with Inby, and there's some great stuff in this interview.

  • Oh man. They just keep getting better and better. It's amazing too how very different the approaches are between them.

I think this is my favorite. Maybe because it's more relatable than the other two who's skills are so far beyond mine. Not that Inby's aren't, but things are somehow a bit more understandable for me.

  • Amazingly interview of a truly talented musician.

    Well done Michael and Inby.

  • Great interview of a so cute and solar girl by a so humble genius!

  • Been following her YT channel for a while, great stuff.

  • I can only join the choir already singing the praise: great stuff!

  • It was good ya?
