Neat. I have a 3.5mm adapter but it’s much bulkier than this one & it is a bit irritating. I might get one of these. Cheers
I will buy it for the EQ. 10 bands is enough for headphone correction.
Only $20? There are some apps on iOS that cost more than that. I'd say it's definitely a worthy little investment.
I’m happy with my wireless headphones but I’d be interested in people’s findings if you finish up buying one .
What wireless set do you use?
Sony WH-1000XM4 @FizzyLizzy27
The only thing that gives me pause is the design. Some forum members had anecdotal experience with frying their iPads with USB hubs like the Anker PowerExpand, presumably because it was easy to apply force on it in a way that would short the electrical connections. This DAC is admittedly not as large, so the risk should be comparatively lower.
It's not clear if the USB-C port supports anything other than charging, which would be nice for connecting a MIDI controller.
Pretty sure it’s just charging @Grandbear , from their website…
The TINY A has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Type-C charging port, allowing you to charge it while listening to music. It’s compatible with fast charging, supporting 2A charging current and a maximum 20V charging voltage, allowing it to support even laptops.
👍 that's good know, thanks for checking
I was one of those peeps who had problems with those USB hubs that sit flush to the device. I think from the look of it these won't be as risky as those because yes they're tiny, but also, there doesn't seem to be a piece of metal which sits against the back of the iPad like there is with something like the Hyperdrive (see the attached photo). I think it was mainly the combo of using a case like the Smart Keyboard alongside one of these types of hubs that would cause the torque that's likely responsible for banjaxxing the USB C port

I can highly recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X + Beyerdynamic Pro X USB C cable combo. The cable has a studio grade DAC inside and you will have hq headphone audio on any device with a usb c output.
Thanks @Gavinski that make sense, I think Jakob Haq said something about that as well in his long hubs video
I had the same tought when I saw the design
I was interested by the Beyerdynamic Pro X USB C cable until I saw the price. 179$CA 😳😳
I got it for 75 Euros. It has the audio quality of a higher grade audio interface without the hassle of carrying one around - perfect for jams in the park, imho
I’ve used the Hyperdrive for years on my iPad. I like the design of this new Filo and I’m getting one for my phone. I think it’ll have a lotta imitators..
If only App-pull just put the usb c port where the headphone jack was. I doubt many people would have had an issue with that. It is that smack dab in the middle of the pad idiocy that is so infuriating. Probably heat related though. sigh
