The Antidote (90s House in Auxy Studio)

Made a new House track in Auxy Studio. :) Gonna tag @Luc_A , our newcomer, who's interested in producing House music. Also tagging @lenberg to hear another track produced in his incredible app!

Mastered in Cubasis 3. I hope you all enjoy this fun pieces of music I created. :)

  • Definitely a fun track. What exactly is “House Music”? I would love to give it a try. I was a bit older when it made the scene. I like the steady back beat with all of the tasty little 4 and 8 bar phrases floating over the top. It sounds like something that I could do in Cubasis. Any tips or suggestions?

Thank you for listening, mate. :) Well, "House" music is usually four-on-the-floor, 126-128bpm, and often features an M1 Organ as the bass and an M1 Piano. However, there are so many subgenres of House music with varying instrumentations, arrangements, etc, that it's rather endless in what variety you can get from House music. Acid House is one such genre that eschews the M1 Organ bass in favour of a 303 bass.

Of course the main staple of House music is a 4|4 time signature with a kick appearing on all four beats (quarter notes), and a focus on groove as well.

And yes, you can do it in Cubasis, although Cubasis doesn't have a dedicated drum module like Groove Agent yet. For making House drums, I'd use Koala Sampler as an AUv3 inside of Cubasis. Job done. 😎

Any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm full of answers.

Thanks mate. Easy to do in Auxy Studio imho. ❤️

  • If it’s easy than you’re going about it all wrong. Take two identically sounding songs done two different ways, and the one that was more time consuming, difficult, and frustrating, wins by default. 😉

  • I listened to this track while tapping my foot on the floor. Well done Jwm!!!

Trust me mate, after 23+ years of producing music, it has become easy for me. It's just finding an app that matches the speed of my brain, lol. Auxy Studio is the closest to matching that speed for me personally. ;)
