Small wired earphones?
Hi,
I have a pair of AirPods which I use most of the time, but if I’m trying to make some music (like in Koala or Note) the latency is obviously an issue with Bluetooth.
I want to get a pair of wired earphones (usb-c, that come with a small box that I can keep in my pocket so that the wires don’t get tangled). The quality doesn’t have to be great but at least it should be ok - I won’t be using them for serious mixing, but I want to hear the bass and high frequencies well enough. Any suggestions? Thanks

While they don't come with a box I use a pair of Apple USB-C Earbuds when on the go and low-latency is needed.
I’ve heard/read multiple interviews & podcasts featuring Fred Again and he is an advocate of the standard wired Apple earbuds.
(I also noticed he was using a budget Behringer audio interface on Instagram a few days ago!).
EDIT: Just re-read your original post and thought I’d mention my Apple earbuds are coiled in my pocket right now, ready to use if and when I ever get a spare minute to make some music.
Yeh, I use the Apple earbuds too, always in my pocket whether I will need them or not. I've coiled them up so often that I don't even think about it any more. With TB Morphit, I think I can get them to sound right enough for casual mixing too.
No case though. That would be nice to have, but I'm so picky about what feels right in my ears that I just don't want to mess around with multiple designs. No way can I use anything that has those rubber tips that go in your ear.
I also use the Apple earbuds for this purpose. They have surprisingly good bass response for the form factor, though slightly exaggerated highs and not that well-developed mids.
Yerp, I'm in the Wired Earbud camp as well!
Got em wrapped in one of these in my pocket right now
Been my go-to for quick latency-free iPad fkery for over a year now
I haveta say though, ear wax and pocket lint do make a nasty combination. Cleaning the suckers up with a toothpick is gross. 😂
I should get one of those cases.

I recently bought these (one pair each, USB-C and 3.5mm) and I like them so far. I found that Apple’s wired earbuds didn’t block enough sound on my commute, so I could rarely hear what I was doing.
The wire is plenty long, and it has volume and transport buttons.
I use a ziplock bag to carry them in my pocket. Don’t forget to get the air out of the bag.
I use the Apple earbuds too, when I am out of my home.
Sometimes i use them also at home, because my AKG K270 are not so comfortable for prolonged use.
Yeah, I’m a wired earbud user too. Keep one in my pocket all the time. The ones with flat wires don’t seem to get tangled up as much.
😄 I can relate! Although I once was lucky to forget them in my jeans pocket when putting them in the laundry... which got rid of all the gunk in the speaker grilles while only mildly but permanently degrading their frequency response 😄
Thanks all! Looks like quite a few recommend the apple ones. I'm realizing I should just get a separate box for headphones instead of trying to find one that comes with them. I did use to have wired (lighting) headphones in my pocket but they get dirty and tangled without a box.
Don’t use earbuds for music making, at least buy some cheap IEMs. I have Truthear Pure, they replaced my old Shure SE215 perfectly. There are plenty of cheap IEMs on the market lately.
Personally I can't stand using IEM's as My ears start to itch after a few minutes of use, and Yes I've tried to bunch from super cheapo to very expensive ones. It's just not for me...
Earbuds (no sound isolation, terrible bass) cannot reproduce sound as well as in-ear headphones can. Unfortunately, this is a downside in your case. 😔
They have all kinds of little electronics cases at the dollar store perfect for any wired headphones. That’s what I use for my Apple wired headphones.
I actually did some digging into this awhile back and discovered that the Apple wired buds are great quality and affordable. So I stayed with them.
They also work with TB Morphit, which I do not have but wanted to mention.
For Me the Apple wired EarBuds (and AirPods 2) are 'good enough' on-the-go with the iPhone 16 as I don't use them for super critical listening...
Koss porta pros for me. I have the new wireless ones that also work passively with a wire. They’re great, but not in noisy places as the block absolutely nothing
