  • Oh snarf! That project demo video is dope. I never came across that one on patchstorage. Good find!

The black dog are my absolute favourites. Particularly the albums "Spanners" and "Bytes" before the Plaid guys split off on their own.

Funkstorung's album "Appetite for disctruction", which was described at the time as 'diet autechre', is also very good.

Skee mask's "compro" album is fantastic as well.

As mentioned before Clark's first 2 records are very good as well.

Here's a couple of things I did on the iPad trying to emulate my idm heroes a bit ( not very good)

The main reason it was called idm was just to emphasize that it was designed primarily for listening rather than dancing. In fact the term 'electronic listening music' was also used for this stuff back in the day, until idm became the more popular term. It's always (understandably) been a controversial name tho!

Right! There was also 'Braindance' floating around for a while, which was even worse than IDM in my opinion.

Twas a terrible fkn name, haha, though there was an album on Rephlex called the Braindance Coincidence that has some of the best tracks ever made in that genre!

(At least it wasn't called BrainDance with a capital D. I think the decline of western civilization in recent years can be traced back to the time in the late 2000s or early 2010s when everyone started unnecessarily capitalizing letters midword.

wish there was something like this on ios.

@Rob_Jackson_Music polydelay has a very similar delay. one of the reasons i immediately vibed with it.

also @quantovox s ringotron. if it's not on a track, it feels boring /incomplete/off to me. the effect has rewired my brain, like a drug addiction.

  • I'm sure you'll find something. Quanta has snuck into my list of apps to use in general.

But hey, your posts have been great to listen to. Keep up the great work.
