  • I just got Pistil 🙌
Let’s see what this is about.

Seems like the drop I was invited to was secret, because nowhere mentions the third drop and I literally had a only 24 hours to buy, it didn’t get sold out during that drop 🙏

I got my Orchid today 🙏
Well made overall, inspiring and fun to use.
I’m definitely going to be used it with all my gear, definitely easily plugs into an iPad.

I love how Orchid interfaces with the Pistil plugin! Pistil is very much an early beta, but affords sound design to go with the awesome UX that is the Orchid. Each of the knobs are buttons as well that also control Pistil so lots of function can be done within the minimal environment. Action like long press add deeper interaction. I will also mention and agree with other users who have stated that this device is better when you understand music theory.

Nice you finally got it, will be interesting to hear if you take to it and it becomes am important part of your setup. I'll bet it looks and feels lovely on the shelf or table, either way! 😍😉

Thank you, demo song coming this weekend!
I put it next to my new, white, Launchkey 49 🔥
Telepathic did a great job with the design, it’s the good plastic 😆 the keys are a little too light, but the keyboard is definitely not for solos

  • These two are a fun duo!
I just need to figure out a way to record chords from the sample material inside K.O. II…

  • …I figured out how to record chords 😂 the stock samples in the EP-133 are so lofi sounding coming out of the built-in speaker I didn’t realize I was playing chords already, so dope!

  • And the Medieval EP-133 I believe is a perfect color palette match to the Orchid 🔥

I have them both sitting next to eachother on my desk right now and I couldn’t agree more

    Boom💥 super cool!

The sound engine quality of the Orchid and sound presets have improved dramatically after the recent firmware update!!! Loops can be saved and apparently there’s a secret way to create my own drum patterns with the internal drum sounds… Also the Pistil app has gotten a whole lot better. I can confidently say Orchid is truly an ideas machine now💥

It tells me that the power of the presets is everything for this device, I will admit I was only interested in using this as a MIDI controller to trigger chords in my hardware synths, but now I truly get it.

  • And how about the chordcat?

    Anyone got one of those?

    It’s definitely more affordable.

  • @Stuntman_mike how does this compare to something like Navichord? Either standalone or routed to AUM. Trying to rationalize how cool the Orchid looks

Orchid works great with iPad and AUM. As a matter of fact, it allows you to route the chords, melody, and bass from Orchid to separate MIDI channels in AUM. All by itself, Orchid is a great song idea tool, with the internal sounds being really good then you can create your own presets in the Pistil app on desktop that can be sent to Orchid. Orchid has four synth engines: virtual analog, FM, vintage reed piano, and a sub-bass engine. In addition to sounds there are performance modes like arp, strum, and more. The sound designer is CTO at Waldorf, Stefan Stenzel (Waldorf Wave, Nave, Microwave) 🔥
