A bit psychedelic, which I like. Cool song, Fruitbat.

Thanks for listening and commenting :)

  • Thank you for suggesting this challenge. I needed something to get out of my rut. I started fresh this morning, using Logic Pro on my Mac. With the one hour limit, I used the Mac instead of IOS because I am so familiar with it.

The song was improvised. All tracks were played by me (no loops), using Logic soft synths. Full disclosure- this took me 65 minutes. If I get a chance, I will edit out the dead air at the end of the track.

Don't worry, my friend. :) Using a Mac (or even Windows or Linux) is not against the challenge. The idea is just to help motivate people who may not have worked on music in a while to try something out. This is platform-agnostic.

And, even if you go over by a couple minutes, it doesn't "disqualify" someone from the challenge. :) Just so long as one tries to finish in an hour, even if they go over due to losing track of time. This isn't one of those literally times Andrew Huang producer challenges on Youtube afterall, lol.

Anyways, I really enjoyed the piece of music you created. :) Nice and pleasant. Hope to hear more from you. Followed you on Soundcloud.

What about a Nintendo Switch? I made this using KORG Gadget on Switch and it sounds awful =) but I used that 1 hour limit mode I mentioned prior, loaded it to my iPad, and used Logic’s MasteringAssistant to try to add a hint of polish. I’d never tried this mode on the Switch by myself and it’s a clunky but fun way to interact with a DAW.

That was quite a fun sounding piece :)

after approximately 45 minutes in Logic but it's rough, I can't finish the whole enchillada in an hour, sigh.

Now it's 930am where I live, exactly one hour after I began the track, and I have a finished track all before breakfast! 😂

Here's how I did it. I first created the loop for the main drop, and the loop for the build up section. I made sure the levels and such were where I wanted them. Then I structured it out. I didn't have much time to listen back to much of what I was doing when structuring the arrangement. It was more like relying on "blind technique"/"muscle memory"/"knee-jerk (re)actions" if that makes sense.

And of course I didn't step really all that far out of my comfort zone and went back to my Trance roots. 🤣 @lenberg is probably someday gonna recognise me as an Auxy Studio power user.

Holy smokes Batman! I simply could not come up with something that exciting and polished in a week. If ever.

Lol! I got some catching up to do in this thread. (Blasted ADHD of mine!) As soon as the Packers game is done, I'll catch up with others' submissions here. :)

well, here my entry .. it's not really full song just one pattern but i am somehow less creative recenty, maybe result of too much work .. anyway, at least, hope, it will serve as showcase of Dirtywave M8 workflow ...

No samples involved, used just synths for everything.

  • OK, this is harder than I thought…I tried a few things and really didn’t get very far in an hour. I f planning is included in that time there’s not much chance of me succeeding, so definitely got to thing more around spontaneity.

Improv and "going with your gut" are one's best friends in this challenge. :)

Bumping up, mostly so I can remember to finally catch up tomorrow (Sunday) with what I've missed. Been a hella busy two weeks.
