WaveCloud and importing wav’s

In wavecloud itself there is a message that you can drag & drop files.
But how do you drag and drop on an ipad?

You can use slideover or splitscreen or the new windowing system in ipadOS 26

  • How do you use slideover, splitscreen or the windowing system?
I dont know my ipad very well yet.

Best way would be to watch some YouTube vids!

  • Ok thanks.

  • This might help too. If you’re not on iPadOS 18 there’s a drop down to select the OS version at the top of the page

    https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad08c9970c/18.0/ipados/18.0

  • Thanks a very usefull link

  • Ok I get the windows system now.
But I can drag a wav file to wavecloud but it won’t drop.
It shoots right back to its original place

It’s one of the first thing Paul goes over

  • True. Many 4pockets apps have their own file handling mechanisms, an audio pool manager. You can long tap on Files in WC to access it and import from there.

Take a look in the manual, last point in table of contents: Tutorial - step-by-step ...

    Thank you.

  • Ah there is no manual.
    I like written manuals.
The 4pockets website has been broken for months now.

  • There is manual inside the app, use the burger menu top left.

I’ve noticed you bringing a lot of questions about specific apps to the forum. I’m assuming you’re new to iOS music? I’d highly recommend checking out tutorials on YouTube if you run into any issues when you get a new app. If that doesn’t solve your issue, then come here. There are loads of tutorials up and people put in a lotta work to make them. Hate to see all that work go to waste 🤙

True in general, but having said that, it turns out that dragging from the Files app to the area in WC where it says "Drag and drop files here" actually does not work. What happens is just what @Meek3 says, it shoots right back to the original place. Must be a bug. Turns out that it only works if there already is a wave file in the area (as we see in your video), but not if it is empty (as it is when opening the app for the first time).

This is very true. Also, the biggest mistake you can make (I and many others here made it) is to get too many apps before you properly understand things. Best way: get one thing at a time, learn it well, use it, then buy new stuff if needed. Not doing things this way is likely to lead to a kind of 'hungry ghost' state. You start to depend on novelty and dopamine hits, rather than a sense of mastery and deeper satisfaction, which can quickly spiral into app addiction and overwhelm.

Cheers! Haven’t used wavecloud in a while, didn’t know that func wasn’t working 👍

Also, not every question is suitable for a forum. Some questions like 'how to use stage manager' are really best to Google or search for YouTube vids on. Value people's time!

I agree that there are many times the best advice for a person who’s asking basic questions is to check out YouTube videos, but it took me a long time to find ones that were actually helpful, as far as iOS music apps, so I’ll throw out a sampling of them here. You really can’t go wrong with just diving into these and seeing where it takes you, imo.

    Jade Starr Music
    Soundformore Tutorials
    The Sound Test Room
    Dan Baker Musician
    Pete Johns Studio Live Today

I’ve left a lot out - there’s so many out there but the good ones don’t always rise to the top of YouTube’s search engine.

Adding Jamie Mallender and Jakob Haq to the list! 👍

Yeah tutorials often go to fast for me.

Without subtitles in my language some are hard to follow.

    That’s why I like pdf manuals. 🙂
Reading is more easy than listening.

    I should google more.

I’m not new to ios music, I just been out of it for 10+ years. A lot has changed!

Thanks for the effort and help.

@Meek3 - If you like docs, the newer 4Pockets apps include very extensive help documentation, but it’s inside the app. I’m also a big fan of documents and created a bunch of my own, based on some of the videos from the developer, and I’ve shared them via Google drive. There’s an index to them in the following forum thread:
