Need help adjusting clock / beats while loop playing

I have loopy pro sending midi clock out to a drum machine, and the BPM is auto-calculated based on the length of the first clip I record. It all works great, and now I would like to be able to either double or half the tempo being sent without altering the speed or length of the loops. My use case is basically that sometimes Loopy Pro "guesses" a tempo that is either twice as fast or twice as slow as I want (because obviously it can't know what my musical intentions were with the "feel" of a loop I just improvised on the spot) and I want to quickly be able to make the beat "half-time" or "double-time" with the press of a single footswitch.

The only action I could find that achieves this is "Adjust Beats Per Bar", cycling through values of 2, 4, and 8, with the "Update Tempo" option enabled. This does achieve my goal of doubling or halving the midi clock without changing the actual play speed of the clips, The problem I'm having is that when I trigger this action, it restarts the midi clock at the time I trigger the action, which because I am only human, winds up being slightly off the actual beat.

So my question: is there a way to achieve this doubling or halving of the midi clock send without altering the "downbeat" or "the 1" of the beat that is already playing?

    Use the correct tempo action to double or halve the tempo without affecting loop playback.
