Omnisphere 3 is out October 21st!

I’m most excited about the MPE support, the FX from it as its own plugin as well as many new FX, more sounds as well as remastering of the old ones. Omni2 is a beast so this is getting ridiculous.

Comments

  • Definitely on my radar for the future. Just watching the Sonic State interview.

  • In the first introduction from Spectrasonics on YouTube I saw only multi-aftertouch when they spoke about MPE.

  • I’ve definitely used Omnisphere in more of my songs than any other synth in the years I’ve had it. The new update looks incredible!

  • First time I'm thinking of diving in Omnisphere. Seems like a software version of a hardware workstation. All the sounds you would ever need.

Nice that you can use their effects plugins in your daw now as well.

Looking forward to hearing the reviews when it launches.

  • Hatchi matchi! Just watched this overview vid, Omnisphere looks deeeeeep. Curious if there’s anything similar on iOS?

  • This video really verges on parody for me, I’m dying here. But wow, that dual frequency shifter at 9.42 sounds fabulous

  • $500 if you’re not upgrading. It sounds good, but think I have enough software already to not warrant spending $500 on this.

They need to charge 500 to cover the cost of shooting that flashy video 😂

    😂

I was expecting him to start reading this evening’s news as the camera got closer.

  • Adds a bit more perspective to the first video imo

  • Omnisphere is definitely one of those legendary "goated" plugins, and I have no doubt Omnisphere 3 improves upon its predecessors. I'm simply not going to watch a painfully corny video about it. (Thanks for the heads up @Gavinski , lol.) I'll simply wait for more level-headed presenters to review Omnisphere 3.

  • Watch a little bit @jwmmakerofmusic just for shits and giggles. It's like some kind of weird combination of Lords of Synth and a corporate training video. Unintentionally hilarious in parts

Alrighty then. Will do once I'm back home. :) I'm headed out to a hockey game, so will need some sort of fun fodder to help me settle in once back home.

  • I'm half tempted to buy a Windows laptop just for Omnisphere 3. I already have FL Studio. But then again, I need something like Norton antivirus.

I don't think Omnisphere fits the iOS sales mantra - it's way too large to sell at iOS pricing, unless they sold it chopped up in dlc parts!

Most likely I will wait until it's been out a couple of years and get it cheaper in a sale lol

  • Omnisphere has always seemed like the Fisher Price of synths, with a huge rompler library tacked on.

Perhaps Pure Synth Platinum 2 is the closest app we got to Omnisphere on iOS.

But PSP doesn’t have flashy videos with Eric Persing.

Thank ya kindly, I’ve only got the bassalicious packs but I’ll dig a bit deeper to see what it’s got to offer.

Have to admit I deleted PSP as I didn't like its UI and didn't find the sounds that great. While I have found Omnisphere sounds to be a bit hit or miss in the earlier version I tried many moons ago, I think version 3 looks leaps and bounds better than PSP. We all have our own opinions though, so always worth a try especially on a sale.

Of course Omnisphere 3 will be superior to PSP2. However, PSP2 is, imho, closest to Omnisphere 1 or 2 on iOS. Ymmv of course, and I prefer Cubasis' Halion sounds to PSP2's. Just my personal preference.
