Midi routing question…

Quick question on midi loops…

(I’m a noob to the LP era…)

I’m using LP with my Nord drum 3P

I’d prefer not to disable “ local control” on the ND

What’s the best, or most appropriate way so I can play on ND, have midi notes captured on a midi loop, (and here’s where I’m stumped or maybe I just set things in LP wrong from the outset) but not have those notes go “through” LP until they loop?

IE, the ND playing stays live, until the midi loop starts playback, BUT I still need to be able to play the ND live to add to that loop, or build other midi loops…

Make sense?

If the Nied is sending to a color, tap on the color and turn off monitor through.

    Thx for response…

Didn’t really think about “monitoring “ like that as being a midi concept, but I think it may work…

Sooo… when using LP with external synths like the ND (or any synth with its own keyboard/input method) that you play live… it seems like I need two channels? One is the source for notes coming in and one going back out?

You shouldn’t need 2 channels. Did you try what I suggested?

Here is virtual midi in to orange back out to virtual midi

Turn off monitor through by tapping on the Orange destination and showing its settings

Do the same for any external midi. The received midi will be recorded but not passed back live. When the recorded clip is played, the midi will be sent back.
