Hey.
Been here for a while now and it’s great seeing new people showing up asking for knowledge, tips and tricks. And people, you’ ve definitely come to the right place, at least when it comes iOS music making, apps and I’d say music making in general.
As always, a lot of thanks to @Michael for letting us use this space.
Below I’m sharing a video by Joe Gilder, and he runs a YouTube channel out of Nashville called Home Studio Corner and he has been doing it for a while. To be clear, I am not affiliated with him in any way, but I wanted to let you people know what a goldmine of knowledge he shares when it comes to music production. He’s not a clickbaiter although he sells his own knowledge and experience in different ways, but the amount of usable knowledge he shares for free on his channel is mindblowing if you take the time watching it. He mainly focuses on rock, blues, country and vocals in general but the knowledge is applicable to any genre and any software/hardware.
He has during the years been my primary source of knowledge (together with the LPF ofc 😁) when it comes to mixing, mastering and vocals, when I started from literally scratch. I do have some other good sources as well but YouTube can be a shithole of bad knowledge, so it is important to use it with caution, and find reliable sources. This is one of them. It’s legit, this stuff works.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Joe Gilder’s Home Studio Corner. Seriously. GO WATCH.
Below is probably the best spent 35 minutes ever of learning about how to think about the low end in your mixes, even if you’ve been doing it successfully for some time.
