What is your source for vocals

I’m looking for acapellas, vocals . Male, female. Just to try it with my music.

  • The easiest source in my opinion is screen recording on your phone or iPad from YouTube then extracting the audio in Koala. You could also try public sources such as archive.org which has a pretty massive selection of all kinds of audio to sample.

Also, possibly controversial, but AI can generate some vocal chops based on your inputs giving you more control. 😬

  • Depends. I’ll try to sing it myself, but if it needs something that’s beyond me I’ll probably spend time searching for something. No specific websites as I think that’s maybe limiting - there’s some pretty amazing free stuff here, there, and everywhere.

    Library of Congress

Internet Archive - Video & Audio options.
    https://archive.org/

These 3 are packed with old content, interviews, speeches, songs, recordings, all kinds of stuff with plenty of vocals to mess with.

Also apps like Radio Unit, Web Audio Player, Tube AU (if still available) and a few others allow you to grab any vocals you hear in real time inside a host so you can do what you wish. Most stuff on these sites is free to use & download, public domain and CC.

    My own voice. Sometimes.

https://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/ has been good for me

That used to be the place to find acapellas way back then, with those phase tricks to isolate vocals against the instrumental version (man, Im old)
Nowadays with ai you can pretty much extract vocals from any commercial song
But if you want something original of course you better look for some nice vocal tract 😅

  • youtube documentaries.. i just screen grab what i like then in Koala Sampler i extract audio from video
