All of this is very true. GR-2 didn’t click with me enough to be a staple, but if you’re into groove boxes it’s one of the best. I love Poison 202 and Pure Acid. I’d say Pure Acid gets you more bang for your buck in GR-2. Not mandatory, but more central to the flow than Poison.
Hey, so I can't find the iap for Audulus. I don't even remember what I bought as I forget the subscription thing. I feel like I paid a lump sum and get midi etc. Are there really iap patches of like really well done modules or scenes for small fee? I guess the demos are the best I've seen but I can't find many full online focused scenes (sure it's my fault) of like drum machines/grooveboxes made in it. Anyway thanks for any help/
I feel the same way. I’ll also note that Pure Acid comes with a decent 808-909 drum machine, and as such it is a nice little lightweight groovebox in its own right.
I like the Pure Acid is a AU bass synth & drum machine, but also a AU midi drum sequencer, AU midi bass sequencer.

A note on Jim Pavlov’s app pure acid… it’s bidirectional
If you don’t like the sounds use midi out and your own samples and synths
If you don’t like the sequencer use whichever one you like and pipe them into pure acids synth and drums
I consider pure acid a MUST HAVE for iOS music creation
