delay..... WHERE..... each successive repeat gets detuned or further detuned
Hi,
I have FabFilter Timelesss and OTC (as well as BLEAS delay).... does anyone know of a preset or maybe another plugin where each successive repeat in the delay gets increasingly detuned ?
So I play an A (440 Hz) quarter note, and the first repeat is 440 Hz then the next repeat is slightly detuned, and the next even more detuned, and the next even more detuned.
Thanks!
AJ

You can achieve this by putting a pitch shifter in the feedback loop of a delay. Every pass of the feedback hits the shifter and detunes. Apps like Modley (just tried it) and Bleass Tides (don’t own but pretty sure it’s capable) have this function built into the app, or you could route your own delay/loop in a host like AUM or Drambo.
What app might you use as the shifter?
Drambo works great for a RYO delay in AUM. Eventide MicroPitch is also great
Edit: AUNewPitch from the dreaded list of apple plugins also works great but does add quite a bit of delay times.
As said, micropitch is great. I used the pedals in Tonestack pro for a while haha. There’s the free BA pitch drift but that’s more of an lfo-ed wobbler. Then there’s modules in Drambo, mirack, moomu, etc
I been using Pitch Drift in feedback loops lately to create that modulated, warbly tape type effect 👍
xx
Bleass Delay does this right out of the box, it’s the main thing I use it for. That’s what the “shifter” section is for. Pretty sure Other Desert Cities can do it too, and I’m sure there are others.
Timeless 3 does it also very easily.
@mjm1138 Thank You. Yes.... I tried it out (BLEASS Delay) and saw how easy it was.
@Gratouilli Thanks for the suggestion. I have Timeless..... but it's uh, not so timeless. Keep me honest - Timeless does not - sync to the host, correct? You can only set the delay times in ms - seconds, correct?
I am trying to create a sequence /arpeggio like delay where each 1/8 note or 1/16 note changes pitch by a certain amount. But without sync to the host, and being able to set the delays to 1/8 or 1/16 it won't work for what I need.
Thanks!!
It has sync to host.
@espiegel123 @Gratouilli
YES.... I am sorry and I stand corrected; Timeless 3 gets its timeless name back - it does sync to the host. I was watching a YT vid
I think Other Desert Cities do this
Echo Pitch takes your matter a significant step further.

Well that’s bonkers! And 3 App Store video previews?! Most I’ve ever seen haha. I bet it gets noisy and unhinged in the best ways possible
have a look at Woodulator, set the FB in the pitch shifters ...

No AUv3 tho. Requires Audiobus to work with anything else.
It works fine as IAA in an AUM fx slot. No Audiobus needed.
Odd. Echo Pitch has been untouched in terms of updates for years; it got removed from the App Store beginning of this year. Then someone brings it up in this thread about pitched delays, and within hours it gets rereleased, updated, and price increase haha. Synchronicity?!
I am in no way affiliated with the developer of Echo Pitch ☺️ However, I’ve been a user since the very first release.
Good to know. Yeah, I realized after I posted that adding Audiobus support automatically gives IAA functionality "for free". That they didn't mention IAA in the App Store description led me to think there was no IAA, until I thought it through.
The super powerful, but kinda forgotten Modelay will let you build something like that.

@MonkeyDrummer Very interesting plugin - thanks
“Modley” seems to hit the bullseye… I was curious to hear a Delay that offered a range of pitch shift and Modley manages that request perfectly while also providing 17 other FX modules to add to the DSP sequencing.
