OCTACHRON: Share mappings and presets?
I want to copy a user midi mapping and a preset to another device. I came that far as to export a .mapping file but now I’m lost. How do I get it back into OCTACHRON on the other device? And what to do with presets?

Comments
Presets on octachron can be saved as part of AUM or presumably another host . If you tap on octachron in AUM there is a preset folder next to the midi controls icon. If you tap this folder and then you should see a small plus key. Then you get a message saying save in AUM or Save in plugin.
Unfortunately Octachron doesn’t allow this last setting but does allow preset to be saved in AUM . Browse to your files app open the AUM file . You should see a folder named Audio unit presets . I haven’t tried but presumably you can just copy this file to another device . Midi mappings are saved as part of the preset .
I have the same question. The User Custom MIDI mappings have a sharing icon which allows them to be exported to a file with a .mapping extension, and clicking on it opens Octachron, or share to Octachron opens the app, but I don’t see it importing anything.
I’ve never been able to make this happen either. Octa will open when I click the mapping file, but it doesn’t update the current mapping so I can save it.
@TasTax are you aware of the problem, or is there actually a (hidden) way to import these .mapping files?
Hey everybody!
thank you very much for your feedback and also @offbrands for sharing this cool patch storage.

But yes, you are right, the sharing feature does not fully work as it should at the moment.
We will check this out and keep you updated.
Meanwhile, if you have some mappings that you would like to share via that patch storage link or just post it here and tag me, we would appreciate that very much and will then try to add these mappings in our default mapping collection.
Thx again for your support and best greetings from Munich ✌️😊
