Groove Rider 2 - midi control?

I may have missed the obvious, but I can’t seem to figure this out; in groove rider 2, is there a way to start and stop clips or rows of clips via midi? I’d like to do this from a loopy pro template.

  • I don’t think that’s possible.

  • Talking about MIDI, how can I make GR2 follow MIDI clock from hardware gear, like GR16?

you currently can't, GR2 has to be the clock master.

    not possible at the moment.
this only can be done either on screen or with supported Launchpads

Ok, thanks. Seems like a reasonable feature? I’m really liking gr2 otherwise.

    Thanks @chaocreator!
So it does send MIDI clock at least, right?

If you load it as IIA into Loopy, the Loopy will follow midi clock. Enable IIA host sync in GRII.

10 votes for follow midi clock in any and all IOS apps!!!

Now that you say it, I should use Beatmaker 3 more. It's one of the most stable apps when slaving to MIDI clock, even better than Ableton live, and it's one of the very few DAWs with audio tracks that can slave to MIDI clock.
GR16 is super stable too and even better in that you can adjust timing offset in both directions, eliminating delays introduced by audio interfaces, Bluetooth MIDI, audio buffers and effect processor latencies.

FWIW, while not a full DAW, Loopy Pro can be clock master or slave and had plus/minus clock offset each device/app.

True, how could I not mention Loopy HD and Loopy Pro from our master who made a whole library dedicated to proper MIDI support under iOS! 😃

It follows Ableton Link, so if you have anything to use as a bridge it can be a slave indirectly.

Now that Apple have removed MIDI Link Sync from the AppStore, what options remain to convert MIDI clock to LINK?

Link to Midi maybe?, Loopy Pro and Audiobus
