Questions about Grooverider 2

edited November 2025 in General App Discussion

Hi,
Just bought yesterday.
I would have some questions/wishes, as i dont find some essential and some less important feauture. I have try to find the most relevant forum. Here seemed like the best place to ask. :)

  1. Multi Output. Using multi out auv3 drummachines i would need to route them to individual parts. Or i would be satisfied if i could render drum voices to different audio track, for further mixing work in Ableton Live. Same with drumrack parts. Is there a way for separated rendering?

  2. Thats clear i can save a layer , a drumrack or a part. Can i export them as backup? Can i import them from someone else?

  3. Is there a way for a file drag'n'drop into sampler? Would be important as i can't fill all apps on my 64gb ipad with audio loops. So usually i use browsers with audio preview function like Sample Crate.app and from there i can drag'n'drop into apps like Loopy Pro or Drambo. (Specially useful for browsing in icloud, google drive...) I don't find the solution in Grooverider 2.

  4. Can you switch off the note preview while placing a note? It can be annonying for some people like me. :)

  5. Audio preview looks like always on. At the Editor would be nice to hear the full chord when you stack notes not just the placed single one.

  6. Can you set the bar length other way than cursor of note editor? A button or someting more quick/straight would nice. I could imagine a shift+bar selector buttons, but it doesn't have that solution.

+1 the encoder and up/down button is missing. It was so comfortable to browse samples without moving your finger up and down at Grooverider GR16.

Other than these i have found it a very fast, enjoyable and straightforward all in one music maker solution with a super nice graphic.

Multi-out plugin's aren't supported. There isn't any way to route them to individual parts other to use multiple instances.

    1. Thats clear i can save a layer , a drumrack or a part. Can i export them as backup? Can i import them from someone else?

Look at the bottom part of the browser window. You'll see a share icon there that can be used to save or transfer individual presets. There are also Share Current Pattern, Share Pattern Bank, and Export All User Presets options in the Export menu under settings. The rest (samples, wavetables, etc.) can be found in the files app.

Drag and drop isn't supported. Copy/Paste from external apps doesn't appear to work either.

The only way is to use the "M" button at the top-right to mute the part.

Thank you for your help. Actually i can handle all of them with a little bit of work. But this drumrack/multi auv3 rendering would be nice. I have just found a solution instead of drag and drop. Preview browsing in Sample Crate.app. Then i switch back to Grooverider2-Files.app-History and importing the first sample.

Meanwhile i found a nice preset in factory synth, recreating an old deep house theme...

  • That's a very nice tip about using the recent files @arnou. 👍🏼
If you run SampleCrate in slide over mode, you don't even have to switch apps.

Yes, best with slide over. Thanks. Only one thing still not clear. You can export part-layer-drumrack presets. But i don't see how you can import eg. my drumrack if i send to you.

Even though this is slightly OT Slide Over will make a come-back in iPadOS26.1 which is due for release this week...

Tap on the file and it should open GR2 and ask if you want to import.

Thanks. I wasn't aware it had gone away in iPadOS26

Ahhhh, yes. My brain somehow skiped this basic option 😊
