They have loads of apps still on the AppStore tho. And desktop users have been complaining about IK for years. They're definitely a company with a PR problem, and have been for a very long time, it seems, Nino.
Exactly. It‘s abandonned so why bother. Yes, i did read the message one page back now „we will maintain if necessary“ But why did they even pull it when they plan to do maintenance for existing user? I have strong doubts it will be for a very long time.
My only IK app, pretty much for reasons like this.
To Me the biggest irony with the disappearing IK apps is that the AUv3 apps vanished and the IAA remains...
...it would have made more logical sense to pull the IAA apps, but the again IK and logic doesn't ring a bell anywhere...
I didn’t realize I still had MixBox. Interestingly I still have the option to purchase the IAP unlock. I would’ve thought that wouldn’t be possible with the app pulled.
How do you see an app in your purchased list?
Definitely not just iOS. Just look at how many years people have complained about issues around SepticTank and their general shitty attitude towards their users regardless of platform.
In the AppStore, tap on your "photo" in the upper right. The "Apps" list shows all the apps you own, in order of purchase. The "Purchase History" is shorter but more detailed.
Syntronik simply won’t open on my M4
hahaha
I've only ever bought one IK product and I was sorry I did (mixbox)
Their online representatives have done them no favors. I avoid IK now no matter what they come up with.
In fairness some of their online representatives have been good people, but they get put in a bad position trying to defend the company.
It has been fun at times through - I remember when they released a product called the “iRing” - “ring” is British slang for the anus, and one of their reps had a major meltdown after tolerating multiple double entendres about the product. 😂
I dread the day Mixbox stop working. I do all my mixing with it. I learned to mix with it. Their is not much replacement for it.
Being able to have 8 processors in one Auv3 is so useful. Apps live Auria have so few Auv3 slots. But maybe Auria is dead with iOS 26 🤪
Yep, my super fav as well man. I really hope it continues working. Every OS update makes me nervous it's gonna brake it. But so far it's working so good! I still have the basic on IOS but got the SE on my desktop. I never use the desktop so sad. I hoped it would also give me the SE on IOS like Tonex did but no go.
I really wonder if the IAPs are gonna go on sale too this coming Black Friday.
Thats a real shame and I am in a similar situation with another favourite app not opening on ios26? But here Syntronik is fine with M4! So I wonder why there is so much issues with some of us and others not?
Just tested Syntronik. I got that one ages ago! So glad it still works. I really wish they'd given us access to the effects separately instead of having to repay for mixbox. But then again it's a business and they gotta eat too.

I’m surprised there isn’t some way to emulate old iPhone apps similar to using ROMs for emulating old video games. You can get a Gameboy emulator on the App Store but not old games from iOS.
I had a version of Call of Duty Nazi Zombies I used to play on my iPhone 4 ages ago. I’m no longer able to download it from the App Store but is there really no iOS 7 emulator out there and a copy of that floating around to play?
Because they don’t want to leave customers that already purchased it in the lurch. Patching software to keep it running when the OS changes is less resource demanding than keeping a team working on it developing new features.
What makes Mix Box so good that’s not offered by other apps?
Mixbox was cool. Even had the old T-Racks plugins and everything. It's a shame. But then again, perhaps another dev can come along and create a similar app. Maybe @brambos or @FredAntonCorvest . 🙏
Some people might focus on how it contained an emulation of a particular compressor or whatever. For most people I'd say the main draw was that it just contained a lot of different fx, which could be saved together in custom chains.
If you're someone who's already got, or intend to gather, a decent collection of fx, and you use AUM (which is very easy to build flexible chains in and which allows you to import custom fx chains from other AUM sessions) then you'll survive without mixbox no problem. I thought mixbox was very good, but I never really ended up using it and never missed it, personally.
None of this changes the fact that it's horrible, from a PR point of view, that IK have removed this from sale so soon after releasing it, especially given the high (by iOS standards) price
Did anyone ask here for new features? I don‘t. And there is no need for it imo. Keep selling it at least generates a few more bucks here and there i‘m sure. And it doesn‘t leave a sour taste your mouth when you bought it.
It seems i‘m not the only one who will never buy an IK app again. Not a smart move from a marketing point of view imo
