Holy Moley this thing is cool! 😮

  • That was quick!

I agree, a lot of stuff out there is on the ambient side but I love it for its rhythmical abilities.

It seems to be working well in Loopy Pro even though I had trouble with it loading in the past. I have a feeling it has something to do with sample rates as that’s the only thing I’ve changed lately.

I’m nearly 6 hours ahead of you I think time wise (Nepal) so spent basically the entire day getting up to speed and making the vid! But yes, I’m getting faster than I used to be, thank god! And indeed, this is really hella fun with the rhythmic stuff. I was gonna be a bit lazy and use some carelessly chopped samples, but I’m glad I decided to set things up properly as it really is brill for that, as well as the more ambient and experimental things. They really don’t make apps like this any more, c’mon devs!

  • So to sample off of YouTube I’d have to screen record in Koala and then export ?

  • Thanks Gav! Good lookin out.

    I'd imagine yes.

  • Wavebox does direct 'audio-only' screen recording, after a recording just save the file somewhere on the device for easy access. If find that a lot smoother than importing screen recordings to Koala and then doing the export etc. etc.

I didn't know Wavebox did this. My wallet has $8 less thanks to you, lol. 😂

    It's a 'free' app last time I checked ;)

It's made by Luis Rivas who also makes a Koala competitor...

I can get behind that workflow! Added to the BF list 👍

I had to do a double check, but the one by Luis Rivas is currently $8. I'm sure it was 'freemium' at one point, at least until people bitched about it. Wasn't it a subscription at one point in history?

OK, it quite frequently goes on sale (including the IAP to use AUv3 effects for processing) so it's worth to keep an eye on.
(I got it completely free way back in time and it's become my go-to audio-editor since I can easily browse Logic bundles and extract audio, keep shortcuts to frequently use locations for quick browse/preview etc.).

As far as I know it has never been subscription, but it has had an IAP to unlock AUv3 processing functionality.

Regardless it's well worth to keep an eye on during Black Friday sales.
(It works iOS, iPadOS and macOS so a truly universal purchase).

  • @Samu and @jwmmakerofmusic thanks again, guys..

Ah okay, cool. It's only 8 quid, so I may just buy it now to have it now, lol. 😂
