Yes, extra buttons if possible is better than needing long presses for example, I think. Long presses sometimes trigger accidentally in apps (I'm speaking in general here) when you're simply moving a knob slowly and not trying to long press...

Personally I'd love to see every single app adopt up/down for coarse changes and left/right for finer more precise changes.

In the case of Transit 2 this would mean up/down changes in semi-tones and left right adjust cents, the knobs are already 'split in half' for start and end points. Typing in values should be as simple as double-tap on the value and type it in...

I would really love this in Drambo!

  • Only $9.99!

Almost 1000 presets and patch randomizer!

Im super tempted to snag this.

This is a no brainier! Best deal of the year and contender for app of the year.

Drambo already has the swipe gestures and double-tap on a knob to enter value :sunglasses:

+1. 28 fx, multiple built-in modulation options, up to 7 fx at once, absolute bargain.

    It has fine tune gesture?

Yes, swipe left/right for adjusting in finer steps, the pitch module provides even more control than directly adjusting the oscillators.

Oh man, there is was fighting with finetuning knobs... should've tried it sooner! Thanks for pointing that out!!

It would be great to add multiple instances of any effect.

Also, the only drag action is to swap two effects. Would also like to see that if you drag an effect between two existing effects, it will reorder the chain i.e. bump all the following effects down one slot.

  • Just purchased. Using with Loopy Pro and wondering about using sidechain. Is there a way to set an audio channel/source to control the sidechain effect that is separate from the audio that the sidechaining is affecting? Have looked at all the videos online and an online manual and unable to figure this out while running as Auv3 w/in Loopy Pro, thanks for any tips

Also btw, I remember that some actions which should have been simple weren't actually that simple in Transit 1, due to touch points behaving a bit strangely. When trying to change the slope without I often unintentionally changed the range. Hope those kinds of things work better in the new version, they're the kind of things that matter a lot imo

True, thankfully there's at least a zoom option for each of the modules, something that's not present in the desktop version.

As for the 'range inversion', to avoid relying to heavily on on keyboard and mouse (the iPad is after all primarily a 'Touch Device' not a 'Laptop Substitute') a simple <> icon under each knob would likely be enough...

If I'm honest I do feel that the 'Transit Hype' will be gone within ~3 months or less...
(I don't see it mentioned anywhere nor being used by anyone in particular).

Long press can also be frustrating using a Magic Keyboard trackpad. I have an art app where you long press for the color eye dropper. Very useful but a lot of times it takes longer for a brush stroke to be registered than it does the eye dropper long press when using a trackpad.

The Sidechain mode is exactly what you're looking for here. Follower is controlled by the main input (the audio that's being processed), and Sidechain is controlled by external audio. You have a good bit of control over how it reacts too. Threshold, attack, release.

  • Thanks @tristan. Understood. What I'm trying to figure out is what the steps are to set the external audio source

No, because Loopy Pro does not support Multi In/Out. It is a priority feature from what I know, but for now you’ll have to use a different host to use the sidechain.

  • Thanks @timfromtheborder, was afraid that was the case. Thanks very much for the info

  • So the only DAWs that do Multi In/Out are Logic Pro and AUM?

    Cubasis does it too...

  • @Samu Oh awesome, thanks! I saw the 3.3 update video from Steinberg and also confirmed it myself, I can use sidechain w/ compatible auv3 like Roughrider 3. Cubasis is great

Drambo too (not really a DAW but since you mentioned AUM I figured you meant “host”)

  • Yeah I meant host sorry! Oh Drambo does it too? Awesome, glad it's already on my library (ofc, it's a must have).

  • I just gave it a go, unfortunately I have the same complaint about the new version that I had about Transit : it is really too CPU hungry for an effect plugin. I quite like the effects and the sound quality, but I'll stick to using Turnado (which is a bit les refined in my opinion) as it takes 10 times less CPU for basically the same task.

There’s a few others. Here’s an App Raven collection I made with a list:
AU Multi-Bus Audio Units & Hosts

  • @FizzyLizzy27 doesn't seem the most trustworthy list since I immediately spotted Loopy Pro there :D but thanks for sharing!

  • Insta buy and zero arguments from me on your pricing model. This app will pay for itself in five seconds and provide hours of fun. Thank you.

    Good catch! I removed Loopy.

I feel like Logic Pro should have an asterisk next to Multi-out capabilities. It supports multi-out instruments but not effects last I checked. I’ll have to double check.

    I think ApeMatrix too.. ?

  • Thanks for the feedback everyone! We've taken note of everything and will see what we can do. There is already an update planned for next week to address the current Safety Limiter inversion! Stay tuned :)
