Chordjam or??
Is Chordjam the best of that type of app?
Or do users here have suggestions for alternatives? Was looking at the Orchid hardware device, but thought there may be a better/different iOS app.

Chord Generator by the Harmony Bloom dev looks pretty rad (and similar). I don’t own, but JUST watched an overview vid right before seeing this thread. Synchronicity! Haha
This app is standalone only but based on Orchid. And free. In AUM, for example, you can get midi from Chordi, it will come in via the AUM Destination port iirc
Slept on Chordi- really impressed and I own a buttload of chord apps/sequencers.

Chordbot is one of my favorite apps - much more than a chord generator. Not very modern looking, imo, but I get great results from it - a full fledged song with parts in just a few minutes.

Yeah, I downloaded the LITE version after seeing this thread, and can see how easy it is it would be to get a song going very quickly and easily.
I also started playing around in chordjam after this thread, and likewise I was able to mash out full songs very quickly.
I checked my email and I realized I asked Chordbot dev about background audio support for ChordBot Lite at Jun 2024. No answer. But I see "MIDI/WAV export and background playback" in full Chordbot AppStore description. Could anybody check if background audio really works there?
I have the full version and it does do background audio and plays.

Different from orchid, but tonality is useful in AUM or Loopy pro to play chords.
I made two presets based on omnichord and it's pretty convenient to experiment with chords.
I uploaded my presets on patchstorage (you can also download the preset in each tonality in the comment)

Just tried Chordi and dropped some quick positive results. Not good towards GASsing for an Orchid

I checked out Chordbot Lite too. Does that have an option to be played from a keyboard or other external options? i want to just throw down simple chords on the fly without any presetup
So far, Chordi has been the most intuitive
Edit: chordjam is on wishlist for sales, haven't touched it yet, but happy to know it's existence!
Your sequencer of choice and chord roulette app is also an option
Scaler 2 (soon to be 3) might be worth a look - iPad only at the moment. I have most of the apps mentioned but keep coming back to Scaler.

On top of that I'm going to update PT30 chords soon to work with pure keyboard input, so that one key in one octave picks the chordshape and another in another octave picks the root note.
And there will be one more chord generator that stacks 2 triads (same or different) on top of each other for more complex chords. The rootnotes you pick on the keyboard, no matter the octave.
I have quite a couple of mostly ready to go patches, that I will upload in the close future, those are two of them.
I downloaded the PT30 one thursday and had some fun with it!

Been pining for either hichord or orchid, but prices are outside justification right now
Just found the Mini chord recently, and that's on my radar, but would rather GAS as little as possible (which is still a lot)
If you could merge ver 1 and 2 (basically v1 with the added velocity pads etc) - I'm hoping to use a 25-key keyboard, 12 pads for the chord type, but octaves avail via default keyboard controls
And then midimap encoders to varying velocity controls (REALLY like that Low/High note velocity options!!)

So let me recap...
You have a 25 key keyboard with drum pads
You want to freely set the rootnote of a chord with the keys
You want to trigger different chordshapes with the drum pads
You want one physical controller to set the general velocity level and another to tilt the velocity to the higher or lower notes.
That should be an easy job, maybe I try walking you through it via pm. If you have trouble getting there, I can make it for you, too.
