    OMG! Thanks Brambos! ❤️

  • Do I want Fluss if I already have Spacecraft?

Which should I choose between Outer Space and Zodiac Echo?

Fluss is definitely different from all of the other granular effects around, but I find it hard to control. That said it's totally worth his full price, the few happy incidents I had with Fluss were extremely good.

Do you have any other granular synths that you recommend?

4Pockets WaveCloud might not have the prettiest interface and is probably the one that easily gets forgotten about when people ask that question but it’s got some really great features such as the WaveGlide. Worth taking a look at the developer’s own videos about it on YouTube to get an idea.

FRMS, Quanta 2, SampleWiz 2 and Tardigrain are the usual suspects along with Spacecraft and Fluss (apologies for any that have slipped my mind).

My personal fav is Quanta / Quanta 2 because I like to go deep with modulations and I also like the UI.

It also depends whether you want something which also works as a live effect, as some apps work both as synth and effect e.g. FRMS, Fluss, Spacecraft, but some are instruments or effects only, and some take live input but you have to manually record into a buffer but can't process a continuous audio stream e.g Tardigrain.

Could some on Android please confirm something? If I go to the Apple app store for a certain app say: Login

    https://apps.apple.com/ge/app/lo-fi-af/id6444068732

Does it show $5.99 or $4.99?

On my android phone it shows $5.99 but on my other iPhone it shows $4.99. Don't get why!

    Shows 5.99 on my Android

    MARKUS TEUFEL SALE

OCTACHRON is 50% off at $4.99
    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/octachron-midi-drum-sequencer/id1453137215

I personally love this app, and can’t recommend it enough for drum sequencing.

    Concur. Concur. Concur

If you do not already own this sequencer, it’s really a core/must have imo.

As far as mission critical apps go- OCTACHRON is at the very top of the list.
Even if you have a dope drum sampler that has a decent sequencer (hammerhead, pure acid) you can still incorporate those into OCTACHRON. It might be the most important and overlooked sequencer in my arsenal.

Would you say this is still a must-have if I own patterning 3?

Absolutely. You'll find yourself going to it a lot, I reckon- I certainly do and I am a major PAtterning guy

I still don’t know how wavecloud works with the drag and drop system.

General (self-)reminder… Always remember to check the install size of the app if you have limited space on your device. FRMS for example is 263MB, which one would assume consists almost entirely of built-in samples, which unfortunately iOS doesn’t let you delete if you don’t want them because they’re within the app’s sandbox.

    Unsolicited notes from my experience:

UI elements updated to be more legible than before on iPhone, but still very, very small (if that’s applicable).

Also the two have very similar functionality to each other: iDensity can host other AUv3’s and does multi-file playback in standalone, and has some built-in auto-sample-scrubbing functionality… whereas iPulsaret allows a bit more control over the manipulation of grains.

I already indulged a bit in this sales season so I cannot buy all interesting apps on sale. I'm trying to decide between some midi apps like Octachron, Xynthesizr, or Roseta that's not on sale but I don't have it and it seems awesome (plus it seems it hasn't been on sale for ages). Then BAM also raised my interest but I don't think I can use that as a midi FX (to use it as a midi sequencer like the previously mentioned apps) and I already have some daws like LP, cubasis and drambo.
Have any thoughts about it? Btw I'm not sure if I can use this sales thread for this kind of discussion, if not, I'm sorry!

I have bam snd never use it. Very dark and complicated.
Rosetta however I use all the time.
Not many good sequencers out there

Thanks! I watched some imaginando tutorials about BAM and actually had to buy it. From what I've tested so far, it feels like a completely awesome groove box, compact yet powerful! The UI actually feels great

  • This.
And at that special all time price it is a no brainer if you're interested in learning it.
    Great pro developer too. <3

    There's room for both.

Fluss is magnificent. The UI in Fluss is optimized for performance in a special way. It takes full advantage of the iPad. I use it all the time to grab audio to play with it.

+1 on WaveCloud. I categorize it as a surgical tool, whereas Fluss and Spacecraft are for open-ended exploration. When the material begs for precise targeting, I reach for WaveCloud.

FRMS feels like a PhD-level app. Hardest to use of the bunch.

You want Fluss whatever you already have, it's unique and very good.

I don’t think drag and drop works into AU plugins. Use the import sample button instead.

I think there’s a tiny bug which means the waveform isn’t displayed after it’s imported. Tap the File header after import (next along from the Favourites button) and it magically appears!
