"The iRig Stream and iRig Pro I/O audio interfaces from IK Multimedia are designed to charge connected iOS devices. The iRig Stream features a 2x RCA connector for charging, while the iRig Pro I/O includes a mini-DIN connector for charging. These interfaces are compatible with a wide range of iOS devices, including the latest iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models. To charge the device, connect the included Lightning cable to the Mini-DIN port on the audio interface and then connect the Lightning cable to the iOS device. It is important to ensure that the phantom power is turned off by setting the phantom power switch to the OFF position. For low latency, the IK Multimedia's iRig audio driver must be installed on the device."
A lot of hardware companies got gun shy about IOS peripherals as the damn ports kept changing too quickly. Heh, USB C may have more longevity... but... FOR HOW LONG?
I doubt many audio interface manufacturer are prepared to put an 'USB-C PD Hub' inside their audio-interfaces as it could potentially cause a lot of interference...
omg. That is hilarious. Which AI produced that staggering pile of misinformation?
Or, did you make that up to be funny? If so, I'm would love to see you at an improv comedy gig. 😂
Charging using 2xRCA connectors? That was a new one for me 😂
This 'AI Slop' makes everyone more stupid in the long run...
...at last some fact-checking should be done prior to posting?!
AI = Absolute Insanity
To me it doesn't matter if it is intentional or not. Fun stuff either way.
Yep. I'm still grinning.
I was psyched to check out the Irig pro i/o for this reason! But I can report it does not charge a usb C ipad. It does charge lightning! (:
@Samu but what about all the interfaces with usb ports in em, like audiofuse? Does it have to be more noisy to work? It has 3 usb connectors that provide power. The iConnectivity 4c was a noisy pastard, never buy that. But I would try a new version
The USB-Port on the MiniFuse is very low-power <250mHa so it's hardly usable for charging as it barely manages provide enough juice for controllers with some flashing lights on them. (ie not nearly enough for say LaunchPadPro Mk3 which won't even power up when connected).
I honestly feel the best option is to just get a dongle/hub with a USB-C PD port for charging.
This synido interface

And it's big brother (the $50 model) both feature charging pass thru ports. I use my battery with em to keep the pad charged all the time
But they don't have their own batteries to charge a device
Closest ive really come across to do this
That company has a rather specific sense of humor.

Mentioned "big brother" seems much more usable when it comes to guitars.: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F2SVS4PP
My old ica4+ charges the iPad, I think the basic irig does as well come to think of it…
I believe we're looking for USB-C PD, not classic Lightning.
The difference is that USB-C ports supply 5 V power to connected devices, same as conventional USB-A ports. But USB-C Power Delivery can run as high as 20 V; the actual value is negotiated when a charger is connected to your device. That higher voltage and power could be a bit noisier.
Edit: And that 5 Vdc is generated from the device battery, while the PD power is coming from the AC line. It could be different with a battery PD source.
That was my bad. I have an iRig Pro Duo, don't use it much but I thought it had the ability to charge IOS devices when plugged in to the AC adapter. I was in a rush so I did a quick ChatGPT search. Obviously I didn't proofread it brfore I posted it. So, sue me, roast me, whatever. IDGAF
