TBH have any of these Black Friday sales knocked you off your feet so far? I see nothing that hasn’t already been offered throughout the year already. Patterning 3 is the only exception I’ve seen, only because it’s never been on sale before.

I've had my iPad since march and this was the first time ravenscroft piano was on sale, also bram bos and fabfilter. I'm looking forward to buying groove rider 2 if it goes back on sale again (missed the recent one). I feel like everything I wanted has been on sale at least once now though!

  • I went all in cubasis 3 and iaps with this sale. Love the app so far and instruments sound amazing. Saved quite a bit off “regular” pricing. I also Korg gadget’ed pretty hard. Picked up FRMS and Patterning as well as a few other interesting apps.

Was the pricing great? I don’t know as I haven’t been the iOS game for long. It was compelling enough for me to jump in pretty heavily, that’s for sure.

How are you finding FRMS? Do you think it’s worth getting if you already own other granular synths like spacecraft and samplewiz 2?

It’s my first foray into granular synths so I can’t compare it with others. I couldn’t be more happy with the $4 purchase.

Honestly not really. Might get either Hilda or Solderbox since it’s friggin’ Bram, but no must-haves at instabuy prices for me so far. Interested in Lines and Transit 2, but I’ve set my upper limit to $8 per guilty-pleasure plugin, and Gav sorta turned me off to the UI of Transit 2.

    It’s very different from spacecraft
    Dont have samplewiz

I myself am enjoying it way too much 🤣

    Transit 2 (intro price)
    Chordjam (all time low)
    Riffer (lowest since 2020)
    Elpiano (all time low)

Also, death by a thousand $0.99 cuts (too many to mention)

    And it’s just the beginning…

Is it easy enough to learn? I’m considering getting it, as the layering looks really nice.

I did a video on it a few years ago which I think explains everything very clearly. If you already have a few granular things, watching that video, you'd easily be able to decide whether the workflow suits and whether it offers features the other apps you have don't:

It is totally worth it! Love it.

  • Little tip, I mentioned to the Fabulus app dev that I could see the freebie in the App Store but not in the app. They told me that it was a temporary thing to grandfather in people who’d already bought the app and not charge them again for the new terms… they also told me how to do it and that it was ok to pass it on, I even double checked to make sure and they said as long as I make it clear that it’s temporary…

They sent this image to help, you basically double tap that indicated purple area, and when you get it right a precise field will pop up as normal, saying ‘Free lifetime offer’ which you then have to confirm with Face ID/fingerprint/password as per usual. I did it and it worked, checked my account and the purchase was indeed free, no income tax, no guarantees, no money back if it don’t work for you, just passing it on as the dev said…

Dang only $9.99. It recently went up to $30, then $25, then $20, so thats a good price, I believe thats what i got it for a couple years back. Great Synth. Tons of patches, even some online for free!

Thanks for clearing that up Krupa.

So far it’s been ok, but I do expect more to come. In the States, Thanksgiving is this coming Thursday, Black Friday is the day after and cyber Monday is the following Monday. So more will come this week, and next weekend. Some developers don’t always do it, some do the holidays and new year instead of Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and some even do both.

Also it can depend on what you’re looking for, and how big your app collection is already.

Hopefully more will drop over the next 7-8 days. Cheers!

Not sure if this was posted earlier, but the Affinity apps are all free now…
    https://apps.apple.com/au/app/affinity-photo-2-for-ipad/id1616823773
This is the link to photo, but the other ones are free as well. You go through a 7 day trial and then have the option to purchase for $0. Nice deal. I don’t know how long they will be supported for, but they currently work great.

Hi. I assume it will remain free and at some point will be removed from the AppStore (like version for MacOS was removed). Canva will make Affinity Studio available on the iPad, which is a combination of that three apps (Photo, Designer, Publisher). It should probably also be free, just like it is now on Windows and MacOS.

    https://www.affinity.studio/
iPad: We’re busy building our iPad version - stay tuned!

Having paid for the version 1 and version 2 suite of Affinity apps, I was concerned about the Canva purchase of the company. Thankfully, the new Affinity app combining all 3 of their apps together (at least on desktop) is so much better than the individual apps were and I congratulate them on their vision to make all of these things better integrated. If Adobe doesn't see the writing on the wall yet, I have a feeling they will have to consider changing their core software now to remain relevant.

When something seems too good to be true, usually means it isn’t.

As a purchaser of all their previous apps, I’m not putting all my eggs into their new unique file format.

I’ve also reinstalled the non-online activated/checked V1 apps, just in case they turn off the authentication server.

I deleted the v1 versions of the Affinity suite and will keep v2 versions for now, but I'm really not too concerned about it. It appears they are making a serious investment here and are willing to follow through on their publicly announced promises.

  • Damn it! Missed the Battalion sale! I was humming and ahhing and it snuck away. Still very happy to finally have Patterning 3 now.
