Passed away at 81, so had a pretty good innings.

Didn’t really ever get the credit for his part in bringing reggae to a wider audience as he was overshadowed by Bob Marley, but wrote many reggae standards.

    I didn’t know that he was a lead actor in a movie, but Many Rivers To Cross stuck in my mind when I first heard it on Spotify.

    A good start point might be the soundtrack album for The Harder They Come, a movie he also starred in. Kind of the history of reggae to that point, including a couple of his songs.
