Set list Help

I'm a recent LP user and have spent days getting to the break point where i understand the backbone of how the app works. The learning curve is very steep.

I'm not interested in the midi side, I'm using it to play per-recorded drum loops to back my guitar playing, so i have around 100 songs saved.

What I have found is the UI design of the projects window is not great.
If I'm in one project (song) and then want to go to another song in a playlist, I have to:

  1. Click the folder icon top left
  2. Click projects
  3. Click set list
  4. Click a chosen set list
  5. Find the song i want
  6. Click that song
  7. Save or discard changes to current open song

This is way to many click and very time consuming when playing live.

Ideally, there would be a 'shortcut' to a chosen set, list directly in the top left corner folder drop down, rather than opening the main window.

If you think about a desktop app, the file menu (which is always top left), has a drop-down list of options.
I think loopy should have the same, or an option to customize this main navigation point with user defined options. I could then add my current playlist to that menu and go straight there with one or two clicks.

I have created a template with buttons that lets me go forward and back, but the options limit me to a per-defined playlist, or forward and back in alphabetical order.
If I therefore lock this template into a given 'playlist', i cant then use many playlist without altering every saved song to another playlist. I hope i haven't missed something obvious?

If anyone has a suggestion i would love to hear it as apart from the above, loopy is ideal for me.

  • The search box at the top of the projects window is very handy. It doesn't search in the Audio Unit Extensions folder, but it does search in other sub folders.

  • Thanks wim, its helpful to know but doesn't solve the problem. I have since discovered that if you hold down the top left folder icon it shows a list of projects you have recently opened, which is good to know.
