Does anyone still use Audiobus?
AUM seems to be the most popular around here. I still use Audiobus quite frequently. Anybody else?

It looks like they switched to a subscription model about 10 months ago. That’s too bad. That alone would make it a no-deal for me. I agree… weird.
Yeah I remember that happened not too long after I started coming on the forums here. I picked it up when it was free for a couple days before going sub.

Audiobus was sold to some pretty shady developers, it has nothing to do with Loopy Pro or Michael any more. There are threads about all this here, with much grinding and gnashing of teeth. Those are the same devs who bought some off the old Audiokit apps too recently, and did a hatchet job on those as well.
Yep, I feel no need for Audiobus. The last good reason to use it, surely, was having apps full screen. But now AUM can do that too.

Essential for my workflow (Xequence). Didn’t update when it changed hands so aware my workflow will die sometime in future. It’s essential for midi clock. I don’t understand how people are working without this feature. Trying to workout a way to replace it…maybe with ApeMatrix or Loppypro.
What does it do with midi clock that loopy pro or apematrix or Drambo don’t do?
Your workflow shouldn't be affected. Audiobus still works the same as it always did, and since you already owned it before it went subscription, you won't have to pay any subscription fees. They even removed the 3rd party marketing trackers after the uproar here. To be safe though you can also turn off the permissions for any or all apps to track you in iOS/iPadOS settings.
I don't get the feeling that very many people are using Xequence around here. Loopy Pro is a very good companion for Xequence 2. Its timeline can even follow Xequence's with Song Position Pointer. I've never tried Ape Matrix slaving to midi clock. Looks like it can though.
It was fantastic in the early days of iPad music apps, it it’s been surpassed by so many other tools.
We should all be thankful for its presence back then, but I don’t think it has any advantages over other tools now.
Yes, all working fine at moment. I think I had some success with loopy but need to investigate further. Would ideally like to use ApeMatrix but haven’t figured out if yet. Not sure it will work.
Think you’re probably right about Xequence. I love it though. Don’t know of another timeline midi sequencer.

Audiobus 2 was discontinued long ago.
I was using Audiobus a ton until it got sold. Thanks to a friend gift I switched to Ape Matrix and never looked back.

Audiobus couldn't keep their sandwich together. I use AUM, and it's nice that the dev of AUM is in it for all the right reasons.
I never knew there was so much controversy behind Audiobus. It was one of the first things I discovered when I started this musical journey. I liked the way the interface worked. I often use audio samples and loops and it was convenient to be able to start/stop playback from inside Cubasis. I have noticed that, over time, as my iPad updates, things have gotten a bit glitchy. I expect that one day it will stop working altogether. When that happens I’ll just find another way.
I think the drama over Audiobus is pretty much over. They really f*cked up the transition and destroyed every shred of good will around here among those who were paying attention.
They said they acquired it out of the goodness of their hearts to give it a future and a hope. Actually, they had dreams of subscription revenue and (probably) income from selling marketing data.
Now that those two went pfffft, it could well be that they don't give a rip about maintaining the app. Time will sell.
There may have been no nefarious intentions. They may be new to the ecosystem and ethos. Quite a lot of developers with good intentions have done similar things.
You know you fucked up royally when people around here don’t complain about it anymore. At least IK Multimedia getting trash talk still brings attention to them. No such thing as bad publicity, so AB getting no mention is pretty “scorched earth” feeling haha. Maybe it shows the griping comes from a good place - people don’t complain about things they don’t want to see improved.

(Well, one thing was pretty surely ingenuine - the way they represented their intentions to Michael and to the AudioKit team. If you didn't notice that then you just weren't paying attention.)
Sure man, they're entitled to try to make money any way they think is going to work. They bungled it from the perspective of this community, the former loyal Audiobus community. Who knows? Maybe they're rolling in subscription dough from new customers who don't mind that kind of thing. Good on 'em if they can make that work.
In the end they did the right thing by grandfathering in existing owners, and by removing trackers from (most but not all of) the apps they acquired. But they'll be a long, long, time living down their ineptness (or nefariousness) around here.

I consistently use it because Audiobus has rock solid midi and sync to external ports. AUM does not.
