Thank you @wagdog! Not for the giveaway (I bought Zodiac a couple hours ago) but I love to see everyone who is making demo of iOS apps with guitar.
You're welcome. Loopy Pro was my gateway, now I'm in deep.
I'm really impressed with Zokiak Echo.
What a great Delay! A total no brainier at the current low price!
Almost all demo videos are with guitar … wondering what its scope/range is with drums, synth etc.
This is based on the Roland Space Echo. These units as been used and abused on everything thru the 70’s. it is the sound of dub Reggae.
Check YouTube for the Roland Space Echo. Boss as also made it into a line of pedal recently.
These kind of delays can be great on anything. This is a total no brainer on sale price I think, if you like the Space Echo sound. Consensus seems to be that this is now the best Space Echo plugin on iOS.
Does it sound that much better than outer space or modnetic? Just trying to decide if I really need it if I’ve got those 2 (and Lunar Landar). I mean, I love the space echo - maybe my fav effect… but I’ve got too many apps I barely use. If someone can convince me this is superior I can be easily swayed😀
I'm not into convincing ppl to buy stuff, believe it or not lol. In my experiments I was able to get a wider sound with this than with Outer Space. I tried and failed to get Outer Space to sound as wide. There's also a knob in this, forget the name, to change all the delay times at once while keeping their times relative to each other. Outer Space doesn't have that, from what I've seen. Haven't compared it to Modnetic. Maybe stick with what you have and buy something else or save your money?
I can’t tell if this app sounds better than any other version of the same thing as it’s the only one I have.
What I can say confidently is that it completely scratches any tape delay itch I’ve ever had. It is so lush and full, I just love it.
To be transparent; it was given to me, but that is my honest opinion.
Thank you @wagdog, I literally bought the Zodiak just before watching your video, I really enjoyed your jam at the end.
I had a Watkins Copy Cat back in the early 70s, I certainly don’t miss the constant tick…tick….tick as the tape splice passed over the heads lol
Mike 🍻
Thanks man!
Nice to hear your story about owning a real-deal tape delay! I always wanted one but never got one. While I’m sure it’d be cool to have an original from a historic point of view, this zodiak echo fills the actual need nicely.
Most definitely, another regular problem with the Copy Cat was it didn’t take long for the heads, spindles and drive rollers to become covered with oxide from the tape loop which dulled the sound after a few hours, the Zodiak is a vast improvement 👍
In case you want a Copycat for old time’s sake https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/varispeed/id1642813420
No way!……. I never knew there was such a app until now, thanks for pointing it out 🍻

Here is a picture of the model I had back in the 70s, it was not vary speed, it was mono, but it was fantastic in its day provided you had some spare tape loops!

That is so cool ^^^^^^^^^^^
Nice! The Varispeed from GSI is a fun delay, no host syncing so all old school tweaking by hand. And it has a lot of wow/flutter too
