JWM - Eat My Dust (DnB in Auxy Studio)

A goofy title, but another fun DnB track. This one I started and finished in under an hour. Enjoy.

  • Gonna bump this one up. I wonder, who else here uses Auxy in some capacity? (Whether Auxy Studio, original, or something else?)

Also, I'm at the start of building a mega track for the holiday season. It's a remake of an older song I made back in 2020, but I will retool the lyrics of the verses since I'm not feeling the original verses. The chorus is still gold imo though. Seems to always be the way with my older songs. The choruses are usually solid and catchy, but I used to struggle with verses. Oh who am I kidding? I still sometimes struggle with verses. 😂 And, this version will be much grander than what I wrote in 2020, along with better production values.

But that doesn't mean I'm done with Auxy Studio. Rather quite the opposite. I'll still churn out something in Auxy here and there while on the go as it eats up battery less intensely than Cubasis when loaded full of plugins and whatnot, but at home I'll be tooling away at this song.

  • Another good one, but a bit more focused on the d’n’b for this one - heard some trance elements in your last one, but this is quite a bit different. Love the build up to the breakbeat - love to hear those builds and see where tracks are going to end up.

Same here. I'm very f-cking happy with how this one turned out! I mean, can't blame a guy for having Trance elements since in the 2000s, that's all I ever produced was Trance. 😂

  • Man, that's not bad for an hour of work. It takes me that long to just program a patch. LOL. Very well done. You must be able to do this in your sleep.

Lol. I swear, I've been at this producing thing for 25 years. A good handful of my early tunes are fantastic, even if the production quality was shit (hey, I was a beginner at one point lol). Then again, I wouldn't let my worst enemy suffer listening to a majority of my early tunes. 😂 From cringe lyrics to just bad melodic ideas, just no.

Auxy Studio has sounds ready "out of the box". So basically all drum samples and presets, but still minimally tweakable with various effects one can add. ;) I just (mostly) finished a Pop song. Just waiting on a rapper to say "yes" or "no" to rapping on the bridge. If "no", then I'll leave the bridge as an instrumental since the song already stands well on its own.

If you want, I can rap the bridge, upload it to Audimee, convert it to a real good rap singer and send it to you. If you don't have a subscription to Audimee and want to do really great vocals, I highly recommend it. I use it on all my new tunes. They have tons of voices.

I'll have to take a peek at that soon. Thanks for the tip. :)
