Elpiano and Skaka plugins consistently crashing and needing to be reloaded

edited December 2025 in Loopy Pro

Hi,
Elpiano and Skaka consistently crash and need to be reloaded when I re-open Loopy Pro projects.
I've heard some people mention this issue previously and wondering if there's anything I can do on my end to improve/remediate the issue or is it simply something to be reported to Klevgrand?

Also, is this thread better suited to general apps forum? Not sure if it's happening more generally or mostly in Loopy Pro.

Thanks

  • @danm : when AUv3, generally, the plugin developer is in a better position to investigate and can report to a host developer if the cause is the host. If there are crash logs for the plugins, you can send them to the developer with the project in which they crash.

You could send copies to us, too:

    Thanks @espiegel123.

Select the entry, then tap the share button at the top right (a square with an upwards arrow) and email the contents to [email protected].

Any idea with the .ips file would not be able to be sent as an attachment?
When I try to share it via email, I get "File can't be attached" error, but there doesn't seem like another obvious way to share (ie: compress it first) afai can tell

I suggest that you share each one using the Save To Files option and put all the crash logs in a folder and zip the folder then email that along with a detailed description of what results in the crash/failure to load.

Does this happen even in a small project with just el piano or skaka?

Sure, I can do that. Just pointing out that the steps in the documentation didn't work as expected, thought you'd want to know that

Dunno, would need to do some testing to answer this

I am not sure why you would get that error. I just tried what you described here and it worked without a hitch. I don't know what might cause that to fail.

I did this and emailed you a zip file.

Just so you and others are aware, though, the above will not work for initially reporting to Klevgrand.
Their support forum only accepts text, photos, or vids. So I had to then pull each .ips file out of the .zip that I'd sent to you and add a ".txt" suffix to each and upload to Klevgrand ... so probably makes sense not to attach anything to the initial request, then reply to their initial email response with any attachments required
