The Wagtunes Corner
Rather than litter this forum with thread after thread of my music, I'm going to do what I do over at another forum. One thread and everything posted here. That way I don't take up too much space here.
I'm going to start off with a track that I actually sung on. I don't sing anymore because my voice is shot. But on this track, done a few years back, I don't sound too bad. Still, I am no singer.
Anyway, I am looking forward to listening to all the music here. Nothing gives me more joy than listening to the creations of others if for no other reason than it gives me inspiration to keep on writing.
This track title is "Hold You Like There's No Tomorrow"
I will try to post a new track each day. Trust me, I've written tons of music in almost 50 years of doing this.

Hi Steven! Glad you're here. I'm at work now, but I will listen tonight or this weekend.
Today's offering. I did this one a year ago. It was one of my first AI vocals tracks. I just listened to it today and, well, I think it came out pretty good. What do you think?
Nice tunes. Some of the instruments sound real, how are you recording? What apps are you using?
I do everything in the box. I use Cubase 14. I have an Arturia Keylab 49 Essential MIDI keyboard. I have a Focusrite external sound card. As for noise makers, I have just about every soft synth ever released. To list them all would take forever. But these are the ones I use the most.
Pianoteq 7
MODO Drums
MODO Bass 2
Omnisphere 3
Real Guitar Series
These give me my basic rock/pop tracks. For electronic music, forget it. Too many synths to name.
Anything else you want to know, just ask.
I like your sense of humor. I listened to a couple other songs not on this thread.
Who Says White Men Can’t Rap, it’s cheeky and fun, yet the crux of the song is an epic Electro track at the heart.
It’s a bummer about your voice. Your song writing skills and voice make me nostalgic for them good 80’s sitcom theme songs.
For the first time i can look over the fact that someone is using an AI singer. 😆 (AI can be a sensitive topic around here sometimes. Just given you a heads-up in case you haven’t noticed yet. I’d hate to see you end up running for the hills)
Have you checked out the forum SOTMC club yet? I think you’ll fit right in!
I don't worry about what people think as far as what tools I use. At age 68, I don't run for the hills easily. I have a very thick skin. What is the SOTMC club? Do you have a link?
Oh, and thanks for the kind words on my music. It's always appreciated.
Oh speaking of Sitcom theme songs, I actually produce my own sitcom at home. I play all the parts, Here is the theme song. I think you'll like it.
Here's one for you prog rock fans.
Hi Steven. Can I call you Steve? I like this very much. One of my favorites many decades ago was Supertramp. You’re about my age so I’m sure you remember. They had a vibe like no other at the time. This has a similar feel, especially when the sax comes in around 1:40. I’m thinking Logical Song. I like the lyrics. It’s a love song. People always like those and love to sing along. I think your voice sounds just fine. Every bit as good as the guy in Supertramp. You sound like you are holding back. Don’t be shy. As Mom always told me before I played for an audience… Belt it out, Paulie! They’re here to see you.
I know that AI is here to stay, and I have no problem with it. Apparently, the current number one country song is done completely by computer. I just listened to it. It’s actually pretty good. However, it’s targeted towards a specific audience. That’s not us. We are DIY people. Just my two cents. I think your voice sounds just fine. Belt it out!
Far out! I like it. Especially when the whole thing goes off the rails at 2:52, then comes back at 4:20. I have absolutely no idea who Zena is, or how she is connected to Antares. It’s not supposed to make sense. Sort of like Frank Zappa lyrics. Bongo Fury!
Have a great weekend!
Paulie, thanks for all the kind words. Unfortunately, the song above with me singing was before my accident. Since then, it's pretty much shot. I can still do some simple things but most of the stuff I write needs a real singer. Trust me, there's nothing to hold back. LOL
I understand about accidents. Our two boys, James 15, and Joseph 11, were both killed in an “accident” in 2004. I went dark for 16 years until, one day in 2020, my wife told me about people making music with these silly little iPad things. Accidents happen. Django Rheinhardt only had two fingers after his accident.
Oh man, that's just horrible. I can't even imagine what that was like for you. Belated prayers.
Tried to do this one in the style of Hall & Oates
LMAO!
So cool!
Glad you got a chuckle out of it.
Me too! You remind me of someone i once worked with, humor-wise.
Well, you should watch one of the episodes if you really want to get a chuckle. I play all the parts.
Always nice to have some sounds from a new member, especially when it’s such a distinctive and different sound.
Liked Zena a lot 👌
Welcome onboard.
Thanks for the kind words. You'll be hearing a lot of different sounds from me. I've done everything from Bubble Gum to Heavy Metal. My weirdness knows no bounds. LOL
A while back I did a Beatles parody album (The Leeches). This is one of the tracks.
Another one from my Beatles parody CD "The Leeches"
Another one from my Beatles parody album
Another one from my Beatles parody album
This is my latest. Classic 80s pop. I think it turned out okay.
My latest. Some more 80s goodness.
Great songs, wags!
Thanks. Appreciate the listen.
I really enjoyed listening to your tracks!
Thank you. Appreciate it.
