Well done mate!
thanks :-)
Of course! I love your mastery of the M8 and other hardware. I swear one of these days I need to get a M8.
beware, it’s dangerous device - even my Elektrons are catching dust because of M8
Great work 💪
I’ve also got the M8. It is amazing.
I love everything about it, and that it is a powerful self contained system.
However,
May I ask if you pair it with the iPad?
Sampling synths or triggering the M8 with sequencers from the iPAd?
Any benefits, happy accidents or out of the box thinking?
Feel free ignore this question if you have no time for answers to random strangers. No problem
That was awesome bud keep making the music and please release it on band camp or something so I can get a copy!
it works pretty well… you just connect ipad with M8 using usb cable and then you can send MIDI from M8 to iPad and from iPad to M8 .. you can record audio from iPad into M8 and you can record audio from M8 into iPad
Regarding MIDI - notes, CC’s, midi clock, MMC (somg position) bi-directionally.
Thanks :-)
Sounds fun - thank you!
The possibilities seems endless.
Coming from you, I know that's real. Absolutely love this jam.
Lol! Seems like it's definitely worth it. I forgot, but do you move files between an iPad and the M8 using a USB-C card reader for iPad? I think you answered this as "yes" before, but my memory ain't what it used to be. 😂
Yup, card reader.. it uses stadard Ext-FAT filesystem, so you can connect it also to iPad and use Files app
♥️
It seems like the M8 will function as a USB drive in next update 😎
Nice! Now, what SD card would you recommend I get for my Dirtywave M8 before it arrives? (Yes, they sent a personal email to let me know they are back in stock.) And which card reader would you advise I get?
Oh i don’t feel confident enough to give advices :-) I bought some 64 GB one - not cheapest one but also not too pricey - low middle price range .. regarding sd card reader - i use for both iPad and MacBook USB-C HyperDrive adapters - both of them have also sd card reader ..
Oh and CONGRATULATION on catching it .. I hope you will hsve lot of fun with it !
these:
Oh yeah just reading info e-mail - that’s great news ! Iťs just beta but beta versions go isually after 2-3 weeks .. great!
Thanks my friend.
That means a lot. I had to put it on Affirm loan, but it's gonna be worth it. Maybe a little bit of a learning curve at first, but the OP-1 Field also had a learning curve that once I overcame it, I was fluent with the device!
Noice! This jam is rated G for GAS! 😁
before it arrives - check this playlist, it helps you to understand some badic workflow techniques..
Excellent!
Thank you so much for this playlist!
So, I watched the third video in the playlist (the "Introduction" video), and bless Jeremy but he went way too fast for me to keep up. Zip zip zoom! I'll check "Beginner's Tricks and Tips" next, and I hope he's slower in explaining things in that video. Jeremy is phenomenal and is the culprit behind the GAS I used to have for the OP-1 (and then OP-1 Field). 😂
Man, I've wanted a M8 tracker since forever, but they were always out of stock. But, Jeremy explaining Dirtywave is (or was at the time he posted that video) a one-man operation in the "Introduction" video makes clear, logical sense as to why M8s are often in limited supply. I'm just thankful to Mikey from Dirtywave for alerting me to the availability of the M8 in a personal email to me! Thoughtful and convenient customer service!
I was sifting through Youtube, and I found this video where Jeremy teaches this dude the M8 in real time.
Long video, but will be worth the watch for me (and others new to the M8).
Blinkin hell, the M8 is already sold out! Mikey is an absolute legend for alerting me to its availability.
Received my M8 today!!! Best holiday gift ever! I...need to buy myself a USB-C card reader soon so I can load my samples onto it. (It already comes with a 64gb card, and I really needn't much more space than that for my samples.)
Congratulations. It is an amazing machine.
Very soon there will be an update, so the M8 acts as a USB-drive = No need for a card reader ( if you want to save a little). I think the beta is available on the website if you dare.
Also : Go to the Dirtywave Discord forum. Lots of tricks, samples and very friendly people
Cool! Thanks for the info, mate.
Well, I'm not sure how to install a firmware update on the M8 without a computer just yet, so I may need that card reader afterall to be honest. 😇 And if I cannot install the firmware without a PC (I sold my cheap laptop when I sold my OP-1 Field), I'll probably have to use the M8 as-is. Not the worst thing in the world.
Off course 👍
May I ask why you got rid of the Field? I was on the fence between the Op1F and the M8.
Very satisfied with my choice ( never had hands on the TE unit)
I had to make ends meet. Otherwise I'd still have my Op1F. In fact, I bet it'd have complimented the M8 rather well. Sad that that happened though. I miss my Op1F.
Ok - and yes, it would be a great pair
